Quote:NSW Premier League side Central Coast Mariners Academy have commenced its preparations for 2013 with the appointment of Mark Jones as the new head coach for the up and coming season Mark holds an FFA A-Licence and is an AFC licenced coach with a resume that includes most recently the Assistant role at A-League club Perth Glory as well as stints at Chongqing Lifan (2011/12), Subah FC (2011) and Newcastle Jets (2006–10). Darren Sprod, Chairman of Central Coast Football was excited about Mark joining the program. “Mark Jones has a wealth of experience and knowledge having coached players at the elite level of the game. “Mark is a passionate coach and his philosophy around player development is very much in line with that of CCMA. The Club is very fortunate to have secured someone of his calibre to the role.” Well qualified and with a wealth of experience, he has been responsible for assisting the development of a number of players allowing them to move up through the football ranks. Mark will oversee the senior program at CCMA and his experience will provide a benefit to the other coaches in the program. In 2013, CCMA will compete in the top tier of football in NSW- the NSW Premier (Elite 1) competition. This will provide players the best opportunity to develop their skills and experience while playing on the Central Coast. http://www.nswpl.com.au/index.php?id=554&tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=7262&tx_ttnews%5BbackPid%5D=537&cHash=63ff686643 Seems like a "Reserve" side, to differentiate from the Senior squad Edited by RedshirtWilly: 5/1/2013 02:04:29 AM

they had this system years ago, And called it Johnny Warren cup, I don’t know the real reason why they scrapped it in the first place. Good to see it back, but I take it, this is only a void filler until the FFA cup gets started and approved.

Blacktown Spartans v Bonnyrigg White Eagles 1:4 BWE a bit rusty at times but played and scored some great goals, M Long hattrick and Diaz also scoared, Spartans scored from a penalty to get to 2:1 and made it interesting but BWE started dominating again and got away with the win.

Does anyone know if the wash out game between wolves and united will be replayed? Seeing as though this is a competition format pre-season cup, one would think so?

So who were we playing?
Not the best game from us but Rudan used the interchange system quite a bit.
I don't remember Reddy needing to make any saves but CCM did have a goal disallowed

I don't remember Reddy needing to make any saves but CCM did have a goal disallowed You were playing against The Central Coast Mariners Academy Senior Team. The team is a mixture of Central Coast State League players, former NYL and A League players + a number of current NYL players who are not available till after the NYL season is finished. The Coast had two goals ruled out and will be a lot stronger when the NYL players join the squad. Of the weekends squad only Payne, Money and Bozanic had Premier League experience.
