Justafan - that was a bit lame, lift your act.

GWS props up membership by servicing 2 areas on cheap memberships, amongst other strategies. This is what I call lame.

I await to see all these members pack into Skoda Stadium during the season, it will be a wonderful sight.

With numbers now at 10,302, well on the way to getting around 12,000 for the season, it's well understood that around one third, or 4,000, will be 3 game Canberra members, plus there could be up to 1,000 long distance members, leaving 7,000 or so members from the Sydney metropolitan region, and that would be pretty close to their core support at the moment.

They are quite small numbers, so it's no big deal - you could scarcely view them as exaggerated numbers.

How do you know pet memberships are included? The AFL does not count them in their end of season tallies.

People need to get over it - things like pet memberships and birth certificates in club colours, etc are just forms of merchandising, nothing more, nothing less. Like selling a scarf or coffee mug or whatever.

Wow that is a 1,000 more than that other thriving expansion club known as the GCS. It was great to see them out in force for the first NAB cup games against Sydney and Carlton, singing and providing an electric atmosphere.

Maybe they could allow the GCS to sell 3 game memberships in Cairns or something to help boost those numbers, too many high rise buildings for pet memberships.

Why is it of any interest to anyone including you that GWS have sold 39 memberships since yesterday?

Either keep your reporting of this to a reasonable time frame, I think weekly updates is a more than reasonable request or post it in the AFL thread.

Joffa

it at least gives posters an opportunity to put up quick-witted original posts about pet memberships, which appear to be enjoyed by a significant 442 constituency.

Why deny some their fun?

Man Utd is definitely the most valuable football franchise in the world at $2.2 billion, but the next most valuable is the Dallas Cowboys at $2.1 billion (Real is valued at $1.9 billion).

was valued a lowly $344 million in September 2011, but that was the largest Australian football club by a big margin, and in fact it was larger than Hamburg, which was rated 14th amongst the world's soccer clubs in the same year.

And what does any of that have to do with Sydney's west?

I was merely confirming part of the previous poster's comment, and correcting another part, all in the name of conducting an interesting and stimulating conversation.

The majority of the world label the Dallas Cowboys a gridiron team. The majority of the world label ManU & Real Madrid football teams and hence are the two biggest.
So therefore, your correction is actually a fuck up.

By biggest I did not mean most valuable, I meant biggest, most well known. Hence again I was right.
