OK, so I understand that poll spam caused the removal of poll options for regular users - but it's a bit of a rub when mods are posting very slanted & leading polls to hot button topics like the media reaction to fans in Melbourne.

The subtext to the options on this poll are either:
a) Ban thugs forever
b) Ban thugs temporarily
c) I condone thuggery

We regularly get our goat up about media bias and misrepresentation, so it's a bit tough to understand why it would also be appropriate in this place, from the people entrusted to set the tone of behavior and decorum.

Well here's the thing...

Four options is a reasonable spread, if you disagree the option is quite clearly 'Well here's the thing...' which at this time no one has taken.

The poll seems very balanced to me.

Thing is, if you'd said "football hooligans" it would have read far less like the poll was created by the Herald Sun Editor in Chief.

YES: Flares are great and they bring huge value to the match day experience
YES: I don't care for flares, but can see why they are used and don't mind them in active areas only
NO: I don't really understand football so they should be banned
