“Bringing the Macedonian Community together”

13th February and 14Th February 2010



On December 22 2009 & January 8 2010 the Macedonian Clubs of Victoria met and agreed to resurrect the annual tournament of Macedonian Clubs.
The tournament aims to bring together all the Macedonian Clubs to build a better cohesion between our clubs, so we can continue to work collectively towards building and uniting our community and the continued success and support of our clubs.
The motto for this year’s cup will be “Bringing the Macedonian Community together”

It's disappointing we still have teams and cups along this mono-ethnic model which will only appeal with a fraction of the community, the game would be much better served by a cup repretenting a region and celebrated in a multi-cultural fashion, you could have many different backgrounds celebrated with different foods and a broad representation of the community resulting in more support for the game.

The NSW edition. Not the Victorian one. Preston has to be, historically, the best representative of Maco backed clubs nationally. Success wise at least. Modern times haven't faired as well.

Yeah we know they are low profile, lowly attended and it has no influence on connecting with the local community as those involved assure us, yet mysteriously victorian football still suffers from low diversity and a largely mono-ethnic model. Must be a coincidence. #-o
