Spira is the straw which broke the camel's back. Well he AND Brosque were, in regards to the phenom of moving to the Mid East and how that affects NT chances. Holger FINALLY spoke out after that. We all agree he is too young, a player with peak years ahead, to be toiling away there. We all hope he can return to Europe, but in mean time he may EVEN be better off here. It was one thing for peaked players Bresc, Neill and The Og, but certainly another for Spira and the like. His non-selection very recent times kind of reflects Holger's response I think. Spira's NT form wasn't great anyway, and I doubt the Mid East move helped much. Neither has the rise of (the stronger) K-League-based Cornthwaite helped either. shallow hal wants a gal wrote:i think this is more of him investing while he has money to buy. but who knows maybe he is over the petrol league. THIS. It's not like a well paid professional footballer can't afford to own more than one property and certainly a few do! Anyone remember Robbie Fowler when he was here? It was said he had a Real Estate 'empire' (Assets) worth some $45M+! Spira may still be a young guy and his accompanying comments may reflect that, but again, the Petro leagues and indeed his career thus far - J-League import - Bundesliga professional... If he's a wise boy saving up, avoiding betting/casinos and any other addictive traps, then he should already be on way to setting self up for life. It's not too different for some of those similarly aged blokes working up in the mines. Edited by Gloryperth: 7/3/2013 01:24:31 AM
