How the hell was it hurting anyone and or the forum? In any way shape or form. Those who wanted to use it used it, and those who didn't, well didn't. Just another case of a mods own opinion on something getting in the way of fairness. What forum rules did it break?

Personally the fact that it repeatedly got bumped was a pain. How it got to 120 something pages in the first place is beyond me.

Expansion Thread - Discussion of A-League expansion including market share, potential franchises, viability of existing franchises, history of previous franchises, etc.

A thread existing for the sole purpose of asking for a club to be removed from the league? Yeah I can't see what could POSSIBLY go wrong with that.

There's no purpose for it, it will just cause stupidity and fighting on the boards, which we get enough of already.

Have to say that I found Joffa's locking of the thread to be more than a little petty.

It had already been moved from Australian to State and as a result had got a lot quieter and was no longer bothering those who only follow AF.

Whilst the initial post was clearly designed to illicit responses, what followed included a massive amount of very good conversation (among a massive amount of "you're shit, no you're shit" back and forth).

By the same token then the mods need to lock every thread which mentions the departure of the Nux henceforth.

It's simple an agenda driven mod.

In response to this comment I asked for supporting evidence as it is contrary to what MH have publicly told us via the media.

In response we got this drivel, at which point I locked the thread.




We then got this commentry in the match day thread

Personally I am quite comfortable with my actions, Chris actually discussed the thread under discussion with me and thanked me for contributing to the discussion.

I was quite comfortable moving the thread to the State League when it had become quite apparent it was a SMFC propoganda thread with little releavance to MH and I was also quite comfortable locking the thread once the claims and comments being made became possibly slanderous.

When this type of behaviour continued on in another thread the said poster was warned.

I am quite comfortable with each decision I have made in regards to the thread and poster concerned.

Joffa, how well read are you on the statute of defamation? Surely you know that a critical opinion does not always, if ever, constitute defamation. Throwing out legal terminology to suit your own agenda reeks of a power trip. You say that he presents no facts, but then you lock the thread that has all the necessary facts that you need.

3/4 of this forum is full of "possibly slanderous" comments, yet nothing is done. Basically, the only reason that thread was locked is because you didn't like it.

Still not sure how you justify locking one thread because of comments made on another thread. If Chris has overstepped the mark on the commentary thread, then warn/ban him, but with debate continuing on the original thread - I don't see why it would be locked (or at least why it would be locked now, having been allowed to go on for 120 pages).

So what's being done about the Phoenix out posts and posters?

Chris isn't the smartest individual. Every claim he's ever made has failed to come to fruition. It's hardly justification.

So every Nix thread then?

To be honest I'm with Joffa and imno here. The nix out stuff is mostly purely in the Nix threads, whereas the SMFC thread was created to intentionally antagonize and troll Heart supporters. If someone made a thread saying Nix out, it would probably be locked immediately (as has been previously when I got drunk and made one after that 7 - 1 thrashing)

The real question is why it wasnt locked sooner.

I'm pretty sure chris knew it would be locked at one stage, it was really 120 pages of blatant stupidity and people saying crap to each other.

And also - you block a thread on getting heart out, so why aren't the nix-out threads gone?

There are no Nix Out threads. There's just Nix threads with Nix out posts.

We already have a thread on the viability of existing teams and new ones, without an original article it should of been banned long a go.

The thread is shitter then Tiger Support.
