Three Age reporters charged after allegedly hacking ALP electoral database From: Herald Sun April 06, 2013 9:59AM THREE Age journalists have been charged with unauthorised access to restricted data after allegedly hacking an ALP database. Royce Millar, Nick McKenzie and Ben Schneiders allegedly searched private details of dozens of high-profile Victorians on the Eleczilla database, which holds personal information including political preference, for story research in 2010. In November 2011 detectives from Victoria Police's E-Crime Unit executed a search warrant on the ALP's King St headquarters. It came after the Sunday Herald Sun revealed the ALP had ordered an internal probe into the Eleczilla hacking in April 2011. ALP State Secretary Noah Carroll said no charges had been laid against the party. "The Victorian ALP wishes to emphasise that it is not - in anyway - the subject of police charges that have been announced in relation to the alleged illegal access of the Victorian ALP’s databases," he said in a statement. "The ALP has done nothing wrong.
