If i was in charge, Dave Warner would be sitting in Sydney right now.

How someone can have such a bad disciplinary record and still be selected in a test squad in arguably the most historic test series (ashes as a whole, not this series in particular) is beyond me.

There are so many more players deserving of a spot, who had fantastic sheffield shields and didnt punch anyone or get in to twitter fights or go on binge drinks again.

Its the achilles heel of Australian sport. Players who do silly things and then they still get selected for teams. Its in every sport in this country and it needs to be eradicated.

Kevin Pietersen says hi  :P

tbf, Kevin Petersen was acutally dropped from the squad all together whenever he had his issues. He was never kept in the squad or picked straight away after an issue of his. He has also made effort to work though them and fix them, something Warner hasnt shown any impetus towards.

Couldn't find the old Cricket Thread, so we need somewhere new to discuss all thing Ashes - which starts tonight in Trent Bridge. PREVIEW!

Probable Line-Ups: wrote:

England:
Alastair Cook (capt)
Joe Root
Jonathan Trott
Kevin Pietersen
Ian Bell
Jonny Bairstow
Matt Prior (wk)
Tim Bresnan
Stuart Broad
Graeme Swann
James Anderson

Australia

Shane Watson
Chris Rogers
Ed Cowan
Michael Clarke (capt)
Phillip Hughes
David Warner
Brad Haddin (wk)
Mitchell Starc
Peter Siddle
James Pattinson
Nathan Lyon

Got the lineups from Cricinfo - so although its not 100% confirmed I'd imagine it would be pretty close. Good to see we've selected 5 top order batsmen and no middle order :S.

Its quite a risky line-up, if the top order fails we really run the risk of being embarrassed, but if the top order succeeds, we have the potential for a massive total. With ongoing talk of reverse swing, Hughes and Warner both scare me in the middle order.

With regards to our Bowling line-up, I think its perfect. Starc has been in solid form, Pattinson has had a bit of time to get fit, Siddle is the first name on the teamsheet after Clarkey and well, we need a spinner, so Lyon gets a look-in
