Yeah, but why would you take that chance and then probably have to pick through the players that are left over instead of investing in a player now who's more likely to be a top performer and stay at their respective club.

There is also the matter of Soldado being a striker and Bale being an AM.

Also I think it's more that there aren't many big strikers left, as most have been sold.

But if he does stay, that could be the buy of the season.

Just so you're all aware:

The window will be closed for 2 weeks, before reopening on the 2nd of September, when you can use your leftover funds to do deals. The window length will only be 3 days from first bid for this auction.

If one of your players gets sold in August, during/after R1 of the auction, you will get that money back and then you can replace him after Sept 1. So if you have RVP, but he gets sold on August 26, you then get whatever money you spent on him back but you can't spend it until the auction after Sept 1.

I think If he doesn't come you don't get money back and you have to play a player short.

Or at least have to wait until everyone has their 4 before picking up your last one

I think it should be treated as a player, so he will have until the end if the transfer window to see if he comes to the PL. then, will have last choice in the last window to replace him.

Edit: it does look like he will be joining Newcastle, but I think in fairness Scouse should have the option to retract his bid now knowing the consequences.

Yep I agree. He'll be a player short for the first few rounds at least, if the window closes and he doesn't come you have a chance to pick a player once everyone else has picked their post window players/transfer replacements.

Soldado was bid on before it had been officially confirmed. I will withdraw my bid until its official since I didn't realise you guys were gonna pull this in this case but not in another....

The decision was made though that whoever bid on Soldado was doing so knowing they may not get their bid back.

Slightly different circumstance. Spurs had officially confirmed the Soldado transfer, subject to medical. As far as I know, only Sky has reported the rumour, nothing official yet.

If we bidding off rumours then thats just a bit silly. Really shouldnt be doing that. Know it seems harsh, but its worthy of a fine.

Someone could have bid for Fabregas going off a rumour and if it didnt materialise they get their money back.

True. Im just working off the hypothetical here. Doesn't seem fair that you can bid on someone who hasnt been confirmed then you have the option to retract. Bids should be on confirmed EPL players. Soldado like you say was confirmed, Remy is still not official.
