Forum Name and how you came about it?

pv4. My whole life I've had an obsession with Patrick Vieira - he's basically the reason I love football. I had a forum name elsewhere of patrick_vieira4 and people just started calling me pv4, so I stuck with that

442. Basically I come here and nf.net and that's it.

zimbos_05 wrote:
Jersey number and why?

16. I remember reading when Vieira came to Arsenal he wanted 14, 16 or 18, but Wenger told him he'd be in the starting lineup so why not take 4 which was free. I also loved his and Roy Keane's battles, so I figured 4 squared is 16 and Keane was 16, so it fit. Also when I was coming into first grade in Newcastle State League, particularly early on when I was on the bench, no one wanted 16 so I made it mine. Kept it even when I was a starter too.

I used to have another name on here, but it had my last name in it, and i wasn't too keen on posting stuff i heard from unbroadcastable sources with my name right next to it. And I'm a Glory fan who lives on the east coast (Sydney), but GLory fans always have a dig at the neast coast, so in part it's a jibe at other Glory fans.

She was 4 years older than me, and got clingy as... since i was on an overseas holiday, i didn't wanna get tied down, and i knew i could do better, so i kinda cut her off after that. Lol wtf man... you just answered all your own questions?

:p

Actually tbh, I post the links to both provide the reference but also lend a hand to the person answering, incase they get stuck, confused, baffled or what not. ;) Also meant for a form of amusement, irony, entertainment through prop culture references, another way to waste time or what not. But either irony is once again inadequately conveyed over the internet or your failing to answer/follow my questions is an irony for me? :?

Anyway, no problems, that answer is adequately sufficient, in it's statement ;) :p :) - especially in light of the 'overall workload' you guys have to take on via this 'grilling process'! :o

Just on this one - I can call that answer satisfactory, but, just to explain, you CAN answer the questions any way you want including 'directly' - I notice you did on some of the others, hehe, so I'm just wondering when somebody will go 'yes' or 'no' for this one, lol. They don't necessarily have to worry about the 'Patrick Bateman-style result'. ;) :p

Forum Name and how you came about it?
It's my real name.

Location?
Mooroolbark right now.

442 Citizen or TWG refugee?
442 citizen, never been on TWG forums.

Jersey number and why?
When I was playing I'd wear whatever I was given. I have no particular favourite.

Why (insert the club/s you support here)?
Sunderland - born and raised in the town (now city).
South Melbourne - moved to Oz at the end of 1999 and wanted a local club, they were the biggest at the time.

All time favourite player (of club/s above)?
Players come and go - I've never been obsessed by individuals.

Current favourite (club/s above)player?
See above.

One player from (club/s above) you’d happily drive to his next club?

Player from one of your hated clubs you like?

pv4 wrote:
Benjamin:
- why sunderland?
I was born and raised there.
- thoughts on Darren Bent?
A good goalscorer who got greedy.
- thoughts on di canio?
under-rated, but even if he fails he’ll be entertaining.
- thoughts on the ferdinand brothers?
one is a very good defender, the other played for Sunderland.

afromanGT wrote:
Dear Benjamin,
As a writer, what's the best thing you've ever written?
Third draft of an un-produced screenplay. Director loved it too.
And the worst?
Any number of incomplete projects.
Do you ever get a calm, trouble-free day from your kids?
I went to Germany for 11 days in 2006, just me, my brother and a couple of mates, saw 6 games at the world cup, stayed in cheap hotels, visited historical locations. Kids didn’t bother me much at all.
How's the missus?
Still the missus.
If South Melbourne and many of the other old NSL teams are as rich as they claim to be, why don't they form their won rebel league?
I don’t see too many old NSL teams claiming to be rich. South have investors willing to put up, Marconi have some cash, other than that it’s “ain’t got a pot to piss in” territory.
Does your wife read the forums?
Doubtful.
If no, what's the biggest lie you've ever told her or secret you've kept from her?
I have no secrets from anyone.
Do you miss England?
Only on match-days.

GloryPerth wrote:
Questions for Benjamin:

- Any Questions for Ben?
I saw that movie, didn’t love it much.
- How on Earth can people handle/answer ALL these questions?
Having seen RedKat’s list I’m not sure myself.
- What's the story/context behind your name and...
You’d have to ask my dad, which will be a challenge because he’s dead.
- Is it ok to ask?
I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t...
- Where do you want to go today?
To the end of the world.
- Is this a- what day is this?
It’s probably a Saturday. Most days it’s a Saturday anyway.
- To be or not to be?
Not to be.
- Que?
It’s okay, he’s from Barcelona.
- You talkin' to me?
I’m answering your questions, but I’m not talking to you.
- Do you expect me to talk?
Do you expect me to answer that?
- If you could fight any celebrity, who would you fight?
I don’t know about fighting – but I can think of a dozen celebrities I’d like to punch in the mouth. Lady Gaga would be the first two or three.

- Do you like 'Huey Lewis and The News?'
Oh yes, very good, not as musically important as Phil Collins though.
- What is the airspeed velocity of a un-laden swallow?
Are you suggesting the coconuts migrate?
- You play chess, do you not?
Better to play him at Twister.
- Caaaaaan youuuuu dig iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit?
Dig? Is that part of the job?
- ...You've got to ask yourself one question, 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya punk?
I’m not a big believer in luck.
- Can I borrow your underpants for 10 minutes?
We’d all borrow Molly’s underwear for 10 minutes... Some of us wouldn’t need it that long.
- What do you mean 'I'm funny'?
Cool story, bro... The only person at that table who knew the whole scene was Pesci... Everyone else is genuinely on-edge.
- When did the Mongols rule China?
American edumacation standards highlighted in a sharp and hard hitting documentary.
- Was President Lincoln okay?
Ladies and gentlemen, the next president of the United States of America.
- Are we there yet?
Nearly.
- WHAT is the secret of the Grail? WHO does it serve?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder – the grail, like all other bullshit religious artifacts serves the purposes of those who wish to enslave the free mind. ;)
- You want answers?!
You need to ask the right questions.
- Who you gonna call?!
Your mother.
- Is this one too many questions?
Yes, yes it is.
- Is this now one question too many?
No, it’s two questions too many.

Too many questions from RedKat, so I figured I'd answer the ones that 'matter'...

RedKat wrote:
Do you think Sydney FC should be optimistic this season?
Not particularly. Carle being back should help.
Sydney FC's top scorer that isnt Del Piero?
Garcia
Which of Sydney FC's signings will be the biggest flop?
Hard to flop when expectations are low.
Which of Sydney FC's new singings will be the biggest success?
Pedj or Garcia. 'Biggest' success is a relative term though. ;)
Do you think Gombau will do a good job?
Given time I think he will be an interesting experiment.
Best Heart signing this offseason?
Kewell, on a cash/return basis
Worst Victory signing this offseason?
Worst? Not sure - most bizarre would be the guy from Essendon.
Do you hate the Heart?
I'd rate them, currently, as the 9th best side in the league - the worst in Australia. There's things about them that I like, but I fail to see what they are trying to do, or how they hope to do it.
Would you ever admit Heart were the right move from the FFA?
If they demonstrated that they were, I would. But they haven't, so I won't.
