Its a shame he hasn't found a regular gig in the media, very watchable with quite incisive commentary. He also was never bland which is a great attribute. I would rather have his thoughts than half the Fox and SBS commentary teams. Maybe he asked for too much rem?

Also, you have to respect a guy that was able to put two club rosters together from scratch and assemble competitive teams. Not sure how he would go in the HAL now as a coach, but it wouldn't be dull...

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Watch out! Bleiberg's on the sidelines!?
FORMER A-League manager Miron Bleiberg has not ruled out a return to the competition in the near future, but says he is just working in football at the moment for the enjoyment of the game.

Have your say.

Bleiberg is a funny guy and a joker, but as an A-League coach he has achieved fuck all. To coach an A-League side again, someone would have to offer him an invitation, but what club could possibly offer Bleiberg another opportunity? What is it that we don't know about Bleiberg already? He's simply an absolute out of his depth coach for the A-League.

Totally concur WC20182022 - Why he wasn't snapped up by the Foxsports team long ago, goodness knows? Maybe it's on his end, re: wanting to be available if an A-League club comes calling? We saw how Ange had to leave the Foxsports gig, when he took up the possie with Roar. So, naturally, especially given Bleiberg's character perhaps, he just wanted to remain, 'available' and/or stay in the coaching game, as he's doing now?

BTW I doubt he's the only one - I'm sure Branko Culina would love a gig again too. And goodness knows Merrick was surely pleased to get 'the call' again, this time with Phoenix.

But thankfully the 'competition' for an A-League coaching gig is as fierce as ever and that comes hand-in-hand with the lifting of the bar with the lifting of standards. Improving coaching standards via the badge system, with MOST A-League coaches now, literally, holding 'Pro-licence level' coaching badges has reflected in the improvement on the field. Infact a season or two back you could literally even tell WHO were the 'Pro-Licence' coaches (Ange, Arnie and co) and who weren't (Fergie, John Aloisi 1-2 others - Not sure where GVE is at, he'd be 'A-Level' atleast), just by the tactics and even performance levels of the teams.

Bleiberg actually griped about the system and new minimum qualifications introduced a few seasons ago, but he seemed to begrudgingly go along with it. So the likes of he (And Branko) may well be Pro-Licence by now?

But again, the tight competition and fewer opportunities may be reflected by the fact Merrick's gig on return is with the Phoenix.

Ange, Arnie and even up and comers like Mulvey are now widely recognised as the best coaches in the A-League/Australia now. And thankfully the league doesn't recycle the coaches anywhere near as much as it used to - Like Kossie (3 club stints), Bleiberg (2) and Branko C. (2) were on rotation almost at one point - Was like a water bed with a hole, you press down on one spot and they'd pop up again in another area!
