Slots home a penalty to seal it, not the best win, but a good one to have none the less. Under no illusions about how unimportant this cup is, but the victory over Rangers is worth more than it's weight in gold. We completely controlled them in ET, they had no answers, and we turned it on when it was needed. Solid victory, worth staying up for.

Shandong Luneng 3 - 0 Sriwijaya (Half Time)
Shandong look totally in control of the game, but are becoming complacent. Missed a few sitters late in the first half.

I used to watch Arsenal back when I first got Foxtel in 98 but over the years, I watched less and less till pretty much I didn't watch them at all and it wasn't until the A-League where my interest in football grew again (being a mad AFL fan). My connection with Liverpool is down to the fans. Both sets of supporters have a mutual bond because of the tragedies that befall both clubs. Once I learned of this, it was a pretty easy decision to support Liverpool as the club next to Olympiakos.

I feel for the Juventus supporters. My club lost fans like myself albeit different circumstances but the feeling is the same. That could've been me, you, a cousin, a friend, a family member. The Liverpool supporters shouldn't have done what they did but you can't hate the club forever. Different era of football, different fans.
I don't really have a problem with fans showing passion. Flares, some verbal at the opposition etc. It's when they fight the fans or attack the players, like happened to Olympiakos 2 weeks ago, that I don't like.
Hell, I was in a Liverpool pub in the city to watch the United game and I was squeezed between a scouse and a manc right ready to beat the shit out of each other. Another bloke and I had to keep them separated. It's just a game of football, have a bit of banter but don't go overboard.

It was a sad day. As a Juve fan you don't forget Heysel but I don't actively hate Liverpool. Rather I hate hooliganism, and Italian clubs including Juve certainly aren't innocent in that regard.

I'm not a fan of it either (thought I class it in different levels) and my club and the entire Greek league actively engages in this behaviour.

Quote:skysports.com: "News from white hard lane is kick-off has been delayed for half an hour after a suspicious package was discovered. I'll keep you posted on that but as yet no-one is in the ground" The suspicious package was reportedly the size of a truck. Turns out it's Frank Lampard's lunchbox and they're now letting people into the ground.
