As a CDM i think Jedinak plays it better

As an attacking deep player Arteta plays it better.

Both play different styles for the same position it depends what arsenal want.

Palace to block the move as Arsenal want to pay in instalments, only for fans of the other 19 clubs to slam palace for their actions.

Which is why Arsenal got flamini. I love Jedi, but there is no way that we would get him at arsenal, his passing completion rate is nowhere near good enough to play in a team where passing is so important.

I somehow doubt Arsenal though...

Why ?

Arsenal play with a DM Jedinak has been one of the best in the prem so far this season.

We already have two better players than him that both provide different options. Our players also need to know how to pass. This rumour is SST levels of BS.

who arteta    got his ass kicked in DM against nearly every player in a red shirt on the weekend

Seriously? Was close to best on ground. Think it was 6 tackles, 3 interception's and 13-14 ball recoveries. Not to mention he probably completed more passes in a game then Jedinak has all season. If you seriously think Jedinak> Arteta then idek anymore.

What game were you watching he was beaten in almost all of his one on ones. Is to slow and his body on body is not good enough. I cant even count how many times the commentator said and arteta again with the mistake.

Do i think defensively jedinak is better ? yes
do i think jedinak is better at passing and attacking then arteta ? no

jedinaks role for palace as a DM is make the tackle pass it off to the attackers to attack. If that is what wenger wants just a wall at DM jedinak would be a great cheap buy.

Several people have already come out against you to say that you couldn't be more wrong. All knowledgeable pundits and journo's have been raving about Arteta's fantastic performance against Liverpool.

Where in gods name do you get the idea that he was beaten in almost all of his 1v1's?
Go look at the stats. It couldn't be further from the truth. He dominated them.
He was only dispossessed once the whole match. While I've already stated how many times he won the ball.
You're just making stuff up. And yes Stewart Robson, a known Arteta hater who has very little tactical knowledge was commentating and calls out his every mistake. Ofcourse you're going to have a couple of mistakes when you are by far the most involved player in the entire game.

You just asked where i heard it then answered about where i heard it
You say im a liar but then you go on about where i heard it from this post was very confusing Neanderthal

Point being, Robsons deluded commentary is the last place I'd rely on to form an opinion. Particularly on Arteta, Giroud and Wenger.

And no one, not even Robson said he was beaten in almost all of his 1v1's.

Ive always said Arteta is a better attacker and passer of the ball better dribbler but my point is Jedinak is a better DM his defending tackling positioning is alot better then Arteta.

in the highlights a few things when Henderson attacks when he steals the ball Arteta as a DM should come across block him off make a tackle but instead jogs and ball watches.

So many Arsenal fans undies are too tight ive never said Arteta is crap and shit ? ive said Jedinak is a better defensive person and if that is what Arsenal want he would do a better DEFENSIVE job then Arteta does.

If they rather a deeper player to play the ball out and create attacks down the park but not as good on the defensive keep Arteta.

everyone should remember holman's story and how it sometimes takes a while for club form to translate to international form

You may be right Grazor Blade, but same time (I was never Holman Hater FTR), Jedinak has already played with the Socceroos for a number of years now, 40 odd caps since his debut 2008. Two full World Cup campaigns. But just, even that and 'the suggestion we've seen the extent of his talents with the NT already' aside - There is ALSO the thing where the demands, tactical approach, style of opponents etc... which ALSO factored in to Holman's mixed form (Again, was never a hater).

Yeah, Jedinak's in the supposedly best domestic league in the world, albeit playing with one of it's poorest teams - WHICH, in itself, is a major factor in the equation, the circumstances of the team's tactical set up and approach to their opponents.

Going by Stifler'sMom and the comments of others, he seems to perform well in a 'free-er' role with Palace, in a different contextual environment and even style league.

But with the Socceroos, we have our 'Dutch-style' system, and Jedinak, like the rest of our players, have to perform to the requirements of their respective roles 'within' that system. And 'often' we're the 'favoured' team who are having to 'seize the initiative' and break down 10-man defences via AFC qualifying in temperatures, match and pitch conditions far foreign from Europe and even the A-League. THEN, jump from that, to friendlies and even WC matches against the best teams in the world, and the challenge there is even greater than any Jedinak and his Socceroos team mates face at club level. Brazil and even France are genuinely top International sides, featuring players, individuals regarded amongst the best players in the world, right now and two of those individuals literally tore our sides apart - Neymar and Ribery. Heck, EPL-based Jedinak - not even he faces the likes of they - He faces some top players, no doubt, but NOT they (Nor Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo)!

Jedinak may be good in context, in the context of his Palace role, but the Socceroos and the DM-role he's long played, has different demands in a different, very intense, much more varied environment with some team mates of quite varying circumstances and even playing levels (Some who even lacked regular football/fitness - Holman, Neill, Carney etc).

Don't forget how poorly we played against Oman, with he and Holland in CM/DM. That was in fair part a tactical fault, pointing to Holger, but Holland and Jedi shared blame too, unable or lacking the game to contribute to our build up going forward, with Jedinak resorting to long and at times even aimless, balls.

Hahaha, nah. Its because of the game Arsenal plays. Jedi wouldn't fit into the system, due to his poor passing game.

If Arsenal were after someone to just break up play and sit in front of the 2 CBs, Jedi is great. I can't see that being the case.

And, in the Roos set up...we don't have the quality to have a "passenger" (in a passing sense) in midfield. We currently don't have a very good passing DM to be able to stand alongside Jedi and feed off of his defensive work.

Kind of why some people are calling to see Jedi playing at CB. I'm not sure that playing him there for the NT will bring about better performances, but I don't feel like him being at DM will be too fruitful for us.

I think he has had plenty of chances to prove himself as a DM. Of course, with a new coach coming in, he may find himself in a system that can cover his weakness in passing and capitalise on his strong defensive game.

It's because he challenges Milligan for a spot in the Socceroos starting line-up. I've been reading this forum for years (hardly ever post), but it's quite clear that over 50% of people on here are Melbourne Victory fans.

We like to hate on Jedinak because it makes us feel better when Milligan is assured of a spot. I'm less harsh on him than other Melbourne fans, but yes it is a little sad.

Personally I think Jedinak is a more deserving Socceroos captain than Milligan, but unfortunately for him he will never have the fans' support because he doesn't play for Melbourne Victory.

That really is a load of crap. If you really think Jedinak is good enough to be an Arsenal player than you're deluded. What does Milligan have to do with literally anything? Any fan will tell you Jedinak has been exceptional in the prem, but simply hasn't lived up to those standards for the national team, I fail to see how Milligan comes into this equation at all.

My comment wasn't in relation to this isolated topic about Arsenal. I was simply referring to the general Jedinak hate on this forum. If you have a look at the many Socceroos line-up threads in AF, you'll find that every Melbourne Victory fan picks Millsy and drops Jedinak. Now, I'm a Melbourne Victory fan, but country comes first for me. I don't see any point in being biased if it's to our country's detriment.

Jedinaks recent performances for the socceroos= Neill-esque
Milligans recent performances for the socceroos= decent.

As simple as that. If you do trawl through the socceroos threads like you say you do, you'll see these comments being echoed. Jedinak is a quality player, but he just hasn't been turning in a good shifts for the Socceroos for a while now.

I personally am not bashing Jedinak being linked to a big team.

I'm bashing the fact that a team that is based around everyone being amazing passers of the ball is after someone whose main weak point IMO is his passing.

I wouldn't be surprised for a lot of big teams to be after him - he's the shining light in an otherwise poor team currently. I have doubts on whether teams who base their game around slick passing, like Arsenal, would be interested in him though

Don't be a party pooper! It sounded good to me

It's certain that Premier League clubs will go for him, doubly so if/when Palace go down.

Win it, give it. That's all he'll have to do if he goes to Arsenal.
