Lol at steve Bruce:
"I thought it was a deflection off a player," said Sunderland manager Steve Bruce. "I have to say when I have just seen it there, if anybody knew that rule - that it is supposed to be a drop ball - then you are a saddo."

. However, isnt it the referees job to know the rulebook, back to front?

Some very interesting stats for yall.
Of all the competative matche played between the two. Blackburn is beating Burnley by one game (39 to 38). Could be all square. Hopefully Emo gets a run.

I remember in the 2002 world cup. Diouf was one of the star players, dribbling past defenders and scoring crackers. Then Liverpool signed him. But now he plain sucks for some reason.

imnofreak wrote::lol:. However, isnt it the referees job to know the rulebook, back to front? Sorry to bring this up again - but this all rests on whether the ref actually noticed the deflection in real time. I didn't, neither did the commentators on Fox - it was the 3rd or 4th replay before they realised what had happened. There's a good chance that the ref is sitting at home now scratching his head wondering how he missed it. And top marks to Benitez for accepting that it was the performance and not the beachball that cost Liverpool the points. Pity he didn't go that bit further and admit that 3 central defenders with 1 day of training, and Jay Spearing in the middle was - perhaps - not the way to go against a pretty decent Sunderland side.

Weird day in the Champions League : 1 home win, 2 draws and 5 away wins....didn't see that coming especially Barca losing to Rubin Kazan. Good week to be a Liverpool supporter, the big question is how much longer will Rafa last? \:d/

Fucking disgraceful. Usually Im defending him, but Rafa, sort your shit out or Get the fuck out. We're looking for a winner, so you take off our best player, and goalscorer, and you put on VORONIN??!?!. And theres an injury concern on Gerrard. FML.
At least Inter, Barca, Arsenal all dropped points too

Forest 1 Barnsley 0 Moussi got sent off after celebrating his goal (2nd yellow card)
5 in a row now for Forest!! Now I'm reaching for the oxygen cylinder. Haven't been at this altitude for at least ten years. May the atmosphere continue to thin out!!:d

We'll give the play offs a shake and I would be happy with that. If we got into the EPL we would have to spend tens of millions to be competitive. Look at Birmingham and Wolves, they are struggling. Burnley will be there too. That's the problem with the fizzy league. There is too much of a gulf in class between the fizzy league and the EPL.

Nagoya got hammered in this morning's ACL by Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia 6-2. Defender Takeuchi got sent off after 7 minutes.
Kennedy scored in the 15th minute and Nagoya were okay in the first half but simply fell away in the second, Al-Ittihad ripped them apart. Just watched the replay on Fox Sports and to be honest it could have been a lot worse than 6-2.
Guess this means no Japanese team in the ACL final barring a minor miracle in Nagoya, leaving us wondering just how many will turn up for the final in Tokyo.

Roma equalise with the last kick of the game. Schwarzer had an absolute blinder, saving a penalty as well. 1-1.
Celtic slump to a poor 1-0 defeat at home.
Benfica thrashed Everton 5-0, and Harry Kewell got on the scoresheet for Gala in their 4-1 win.
