You automatically get 20 million for promotion ( Tv rights etc), coupled with that the possibility of renaming the stadium (more than likely now) thats another 5-7 million. Ashley putting in another 20-25 million. thats 45-50 million. More than enough to buy all those players i mentioned.

That DOES NOT include the kit deal that is to be re-negotiated (renewed soon).

Just because you have the money, does not mean they will come. The only players there I could possibly see moving to Newcastle if you get promoted, are Emerton, Campbell, and maybe Heskey.

Even then, why would Lennon or Young leave a starting gig at a top 8 side and go to a side who may go straight back down?

You might have more luck with Heskey.

Mikel would be on a very large wage at Chelsea and I doubt he would leave.

Emmo wouldnt leave a starting gig at Rovers for Newc.

Walcott wouldnt leave Arsenal either, not with relegation fears still hanging on Newc.

Not sure how Martins is going in Germany, he might come back.

Edit: Beat me to it Funky. Looks like we agree, except I doubt Emmo would leave

Firstly, Newcastle are a bigger club than AV. bigger support base, stadium much better infrastructure.

Heskey would leave almost instantaneously. He almost get ZERO game time apart from Cameo's here and then. But even that is rare.

Emerton- could and would be assured a Starting Gig at RB at newcaslte. He will have next to no competition.

Campbell - Does he have a choice?. Its that or stay with whatever league 1 clubs hes at now.

Obi Mikel - game time minutes since essien came back towards end of last season. ZERO minutes. Im sure if ashley played that crock of shit owen 110K a week, then Mikels lowly 40k per weeks seems lowly

Martins - semi-reg at Wolfs, would obviously be a welcome back and obviously have a starting spot guaranteed. openly admitted he wanted to return to Newcastle one day.

Lennon/young/Walcott - Im sure a healthy of 15 mill GBP sum would prize at least one of these guys away. Especially from Aston Villa/Arsenal, they need the cash. Sure they wont relinquish them easily. but thats the reason for the the 15 mill+

Doesnt cancel the fact that players moving to Newc next year (if you gain promotion) will have to be worried about relegation. Doesnt matter how many fans you have.

Yeah, you have a good chance with him.

Again, wouldnt risk the drop. What is his incentive? Why would he move? Would you double his wages? Then its not worth your while to sign him.

Same as Heskey.

Incorrect. Hes started 4 EPL games and come off the bench for 2 more this year, as well as appearances in the Community Shield and the Carling Cup. But he might be coaxed into moving, if you gave him 60k perhaps. Thats a lot of money, as well as factoring in sign on fees, and match bonus and what not.

He wants to come back one day, but one season after leaving is rather unlikely. Still, it is possible.

Lennon and Young would never leave starting spots. Villa and Spurs would not sell one of their key men. You would need 30mil to prise them away imo.

Walcott isnt a certain starter, but hes Arsene's love child, and would never be sold. That, and you would never afford his wages.

How can you say we cannont afford walcotts wages? He just recently got off 20k a week to 60k a week. Alot of our players are on 60k and More when we were in the prem and many of our players are STILL on 60k or more in the CCC We had the 3rd (or 4th)highest player wage when We were in the prem. Wages are not an issue. Newcastle is not blackburn. How fast do u forget that Viduka was on 70k, Owen 110k, Martins 80k, Geremi 60k, Capcapa 60k, Smith 60k, Collo 60k not to mention a fuck load of other players on 50k+++ Like i said wages are not an issue at all. Newcastle are a wealthy club. Its just badly managed at the moment.

What are u on about they wouldnt leave starting spots. Its not like Lennon would be challenged at newcaslte unless you consider Nicky butt competition. I reckon we could get all those players. It just depends on the owner who if hes willing to fork out as much as before. Which i doubt.

My guess is ashley will leave the club at most one year after we get promoted.

30 million for a winger. Ehh no. if drogba is worth 15-20 i dont see why young or lennon would be worth more.

It doesnt matter if they would be starting at Newcastle. If they are starting at a club in a more comfortable position on the ladder, challenging for europe, why on earth would they leave?

Drogba worth 15-20?

United came back from 3-1 down after 47 mins to draw 3-3 in injury time.. Supposedly teh REF missed a blatent penatly on flether and booked him for diving.. All managers and commentators said it was a blatent penalty... However it kept up United record of not losing a home group stage match since 2001 and undefeated at home since a loss to AC in 2005..

Chelsea drew 2-2 were 1-0 down then Drogba blitzed them t make it 2-1 but in the dying minutes Aguero nailed a 25yard FK.... 2 goals each to Aguero and Drog

Real V AC finished 1-1 at the San Siro

Walcott hasn't played much because he has been injured a lot this season. Arsene loves him and it would take ridiculous money to prize him away. He would NOT go to Newcastle. It doesn't matter one bit that you are a "big" club. You aren't a successful club these days and that's what matters to top players as they are competitive and want to be a part of a club that is actually competitive in winning things.

Depends what you mean by big. Aston Villa have won the comp many times including the double and have been European champions in the last 20 odd years. I also question you about the infrastructure. Certainly the supporter base is bigger and the stadium than AV.;)

Knew someone would say this that's why I put this(part in bold). We are competitive, just been unlucky for a while. Arsenal are a prestigious club and a VERY successful one. Recent successes haven't come, but there is great promise and we have always remained competitive. Newcastle have no hope of coming near winning the Premier League or even competing in the Champions League for a long time to come. They are ambitious, just look at the supporters on this forum, so gotta give them credit for that, but the fact is it's just not going to happen. They are up shit creek and have been for a while. They have to get back into the Premier League and stay there. Then build up from there and slowly add more quality to improve their position.

That would no doubt be their main focus. To suggest players like Walcott, Lennon and Young would go to Newcastle is ridiculous when these are young players who have shown they have a great future ahead. Why waste that at Newcastle? Some of the players suggested could work out, but Walcott, Lennon or Young is just laughable.

I think you'd have some serious work trying to convince those players to go to Newcastle in Football Manager let alone real life.:p

Of course Arsenal have been competitive. They have always been with Wenger in charge. Just because there are no trophies in four years is no basis to say that a team is not competitive. To do so shows a lack of nous to an alarming degree.

For the record, Walcott would never go to Newcastle unless of course Arsenal was offered an obscene amount of money that was impossible to turn down.

Also Fletcher is just getting some of his own back. Again i'll refer to the Man Utd - Arsenal game when Fletcher gave away an obvious penalty and it wasn't given.

Liverpool: Reina, Carragher, Agger, Kyrgiakos, Insua, Kuyt, Lucas, Mascherano, Benayoun, Voronin, Torres.

Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, Babel, Ngog, Spearing, Darby, Ayala.

Oh Boyyyyy. Voronin starting again. Epic fail.

Aquilani is on the bench though, which is good.

BBC 5 live reporter Andy Gillies in Bucharest: "There has been some trouble in the section where the Rangers supporters are housed. Some visiting fans have clashed with the stewards. Seats were ripped up and thrown. Things appear to have calmed down a little bit, but for a few minutes things got extremely nasty."
