So off we go for another season.
Spurs v Man City
Tevez captaining City with Adebayor on the bench with Balotelli not being signed in time. David Silva, Yaya Toure and Kolarov all starting. Perhaps the biggest talking point will be Shay Given on the bench. Wouldn't be surprised to see him leave in the next 2 weeks.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Wenger go after him hard this week now that Schwarzer seems a lost cause.

Quite brilliant save from Hart to deny Defoe.

Joe Hart has made some brilliant saves in this opening 20 minutes. Spurs have been all over it.

Amazing saves by Hart. I knew he was going to be a great keeper a couple of years ago but he's come on in leaps and bounds this last year.

A goalkeeping exhibition from Joe Hart here. 3 world class saves in the first 20 mins to keep it at 0-0

Joe Hart may have just pushed Shay Given out of the club with this performance.

Defoe could've had a hat trick
On paper they might be but the Spuds are dominating them atm. Bunch of over inflated ego's. Yaya Toure isn't worth that kind of money and neither is Silva.
They also still have Richards at right back who is useless.

Edited by A.Haak: 14/8/2010 10:21:53 PM Silva can't get the ball. Spurs completely dominating the midfield.

Toure has easily been the best of the City midfield - but that's not saying much. They've been terrible.
Spurs need to put this away.

Kalinic makes it 1-0 for Blackburn.
Absolute howler from Howard there, that made Barthez look good.

1-0 to Sunderland. Darren Bent penalty. Foul may have been outside the box, but I'll not cry to loud about it.

It threatened rain, there is a bit of a breeze, too many pre-season friendlies, Global Financial Crisis, rugby game being played within 50 miles of the ground, erm...

Lee Cattermole sent off after 43 minutes - and absolutely the right decision. Two bookings, both for rash challenges, neither of which he needed to make.

Wigan 0-3 Blackpool @h/t......could see Martinez replaced very very soon, and a brace to Marlon Harewood before h/t for the Seasiders.
