Miloš Dimitrijević has apparently signed a contract with Sydney FC until the end of the A-League season after being recommended and convinced by friend and former Red Star team mate Nikola Petković. Currently an free agent after his Red Star contract was terminated in April 2013, probably because they are broke. He is due to arrive in Sydney today and will start training next week. Fairly decent midfielder/playmaker who has represented both the French and Serbian national youth teams. He was considering retiring from football allthogether. Hopefully this will be the boost he has needed. Can someone explain how is Sydney fitting in all these players under the salary cap? :) Source.. http://sportal.rs/news.php?news=116993Edited by miko: 5/1/2014 08:25:27 PM

I think Petković and Despotović have the same manager.
Maybe Dimitrijević has signed with him too and now scored himself a new contract..

The two Serbians that have come have been fantastic and hopefully they sign with us for a while but I don't think we need to sign this guy. Pretty sure our foriegn quota is full Aswell.

RedKat wrote:Hearing yau has agreed to a mutual termination If this is true then it just strengthens my point that he shouldn't have been re-signed. Hopefully this new bloke is like Petkovic and Ranko if the rumour is true. Speaking of Petkovic, we really need to give him a new contract.

Everyone knows everyone and they look after their mates. Plenty of blokes end up at clubs due to player recommendations.

I guess he was disillusioned with life and football after he signed with Red Star. He originally came back to Serbian to play for FK Rad from France to try get his career back on track and after some good performances with them he had offers from both Partizan and Red Star, the 2 biggest clubs in Serbia, but for whatever reason (probably more money?) he signed with Red Star. His dad is a Partizan legend though so everyone assumed he'd probably sign with Partizan. Haha At this time Red Star was practically bankrupt and after a short while they stopped paying their players. Miloš has not actually played a competitive match since the end of 2012 and was finally able to get his contact with Red Star terminated in April 2013. This was the reason that Babalj returned to Melbourne Heart too and a large number of players were also able to get their contracts mutually terminated too. The funniest thing about Red Star is they decided to do an investigation shortly after into the runnings of the club and found that out of their first team squad they actually owned only about 30-40% of the players, most were owned by agents/third parties and actually on loan at the club and the club didn't even know this.
