He did say he wanted a loan until the next MLS season, but that's only 2 months away, so if this were to happen I would assume its permanent?

He's not leaving the MLS fulltime. He gets paid more by Red Bull (3.62m) than the entire WSW team combined. He's the fourth highest player in the MLS behind Dempsey on 5m, Henry on 3.75m, Robbie Keane on 4.3m.
