Nice. But the FFA should work on timing their press releases to get more bang for buck.

Everything about the cup has been done right except the qualification path. The FFA is hardly at fault though. Now we need advertising for both the cup and the league.

Yup.
United dominated the match, Parra barely had a shot on target, but at the end of the game a United player got round the keeper then fell over on the byline. Could have been a dive, or an ankle-tap, or the player just tripping over. Given, Mirjan Pavlavic did a Paneka penalty that was absolute garbage but the keeper was set the wrong way. Had no idea how much time was left, Parra restarted, ref blew whistle.

Hakoah vs Northern Tigers at Hensley Athletic Field tomorrow night. Tempted to head down for it. Pre-game feed and watering pubs are proving hard to find.

Anybody whose been there before know if there's a bar of some sorts?

I wouldn't mind there eventually being a mini cup with 6 npl all star teams (1 from each league). It might provide a better bridge to the a league and help some of the best talent showcase what they have to a league scouts

In fact, would be decent if HAL clubs decided to fund it, purely because it'd make for fantastic access to cheap Aussies.

It would have to be funded by the federation because the clubs won't help and the a-league clubs won't touch it if they had to pay.

They have the FFA Cup to play for now.

And I doubt if they have talent they wouldn't let them go without a fight. And there's no point starting pointless cups. Happy the way it is for the moment tbh.

Also a little fun fact. Out of every confederation throughout this entire qualification process no game has ended in a 0-0 score line after normal time. In other words shit defence probably.

Unless something has changed since 2003, there's nothing at Hensley park except for roosters training sessions, bad pies, concrete chairs and broken dreams.

If you're looking at the scores on the Pursuit of the Cup website, I've only listed scores at the end of the game (i.e. either after 90 or 120 minutes, depending on the game).

Who knows about ACT though Exactly, most state's start around February/March. If ACT does the same thing as this year (last year's Cup winner qualifies), technically their process has already started. My guess is that they'll change it though.

so 21 teams have already qualified now.
Already can't wait for the FFA cup draw in 3 weeks today. Some potential awesome round of 32 clashes either against A-League sides or pitting former NSL rivals up against each other.
It will also be a good chance for state league sides who have only been just a state league side to get exposure to a national audience.
hope the Fox Sports coverage does focus extensively on the Non A-League clubs and give the national audience a chance to understand when they were established. their historical achievements, number of grassroots kids etc.
interested to see who the Tasmania and Victoria qualifiers will be next week.
hope the south Melbourne/melbourne knights game is streamed.
