Quote: Details for WA Round of 32 fixtures confirmed The venues and dates for all 16 matches in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 are now finalised following confirmation of the two encounters in WA. Western Australia Athletics Stadium will host the two highly anticipated matches to be played in the west. NPL club Stirling Lions will take on reigning Hyundai A-League champions Brisbane Roar at the venue on Tuesday 19 August 2014 before recently crowned Coolridge Cup champions Bayswater City will meet Melbourne Victory the following night. The Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 commences on Tuesday 29 July 2014 with four matches, headlined by Fox Sports’ LIVE broadcast of the Broadmeadow Magic v Brisbane Strikers encounter from Wanderers Oval, while the official broadcast partner of the competition will also provide crosses and highlights of the other three matches on night one – South Springvale v South Cardiff, Manly United v Sydney Olympic and Olympic FC v Melbourne Knights. Details surrounding broadcast, online streaming and highlights of the remaining 12 matches will be announced soon. Ticketing details for each match in the Round of 32 are available from each of the home clubs or by contacting the relevant Member Federations. http://www.theffacup.com.au/article/details-for-wa-round-of-32-fixtures-confirmed/1d6mx6n9ljdp11xk05b90bhx4o

I've had a sneaking suspicion all along that all the games involving A-League teams will likely be broadcast on Fox Sports. More specifically the games featuring the Roar, Wanderers, Victory and Mariners, as in the final week, the games are spread across 2 days and conveniently on both of those days, the first game is at 7:30pm EST and the later game kicks off at 9:30pm EST. So both the Bayswater and Stirling games have now been confirmed to be at Western Australia Athletics Stadium instead of Macedonia Park?

A shithouse place to watch football unless they allow standing alongside the pitch. Will kill any atmosphere and will look crap on tv as well. The pitch is 40m from the stand and the surrounding grass banks.

Murray Shaw (From Fox) tweeted me a few weeks ago when I asked saying they won't be broadcasting the two games in WA.

Doesn't look that bad: Also, that light might just be enough for a HD broadcast. With the choice of venue and the spreading of the Victory and Roar games over two nights I'm much more hopeful that they are at least planning the broadcast of these as a contingency...

$4m in sponsorship money was made.
I'm sure some of that could be used for publicity...
