Not really.

League on the weekend. Cup during the week. It means the papers and other media have something football related.

That'd be all well and good if all teams had lights installed, the status quo means clubs are forced to play in empty stadiums. Clubs should be working towards lighting at their grounds anyway but these games should be 3pm kick offs on saturday if Fox aren't showing them. Makes it much much easier for away fans as well.

What the FFA should do is offer a one time parole for clubs' grounds that don't meet lighting standards to host a game, thereby earning enough to make an upgrade for next time, instead of blowing that potential income on a one time rental of another venue.

All up to the broadcasters, of course.

Or they could have gone to coates hire and hired some extra light towers, so that the Lux rating is brought up to scratch?

You just can't ignore the lighting standards. The PFA, the insurers and the Australian Standards just don't allow it. There are no exceptions allowed. The federations should do what the did in tassie for South Hobart. The FFT allowed South Hobart to use the FFT owned ground for free.

They've had a pretty good draw in both the cup and the NPL finals (2 lower div teams from Vic & NSW as well as the NNSW champions). If they beat Bonnyrigg this weekend away, that'll be a better indicator of their credentials.

Can I ask you then, what would happen if Launcestan , Cairns, Ballarat, Wodonga, Mackay, Coffs, Lismore etc go through?
I'm not sure of the quality in Ipswich. Would expect a Logan team to play at Perry Park (which is getting upgraded for AC)?
Should cairns play in Townsville or free in Brisbane?
Should Lismore play in Newcastle?
Should Wodonga play in Melbourne?

At least Brisbane teams will have a better option in the short team.
WA does not. Teams outside of Hobart do not. Teams north of Sunshine Coast except Fury don't.

Playing day time is the smarter option.

You make it sound like they can't qualify. They just have to take the long road now. And it's a bit presumptuous to call it a curse.

Awesome, Wednesday double! Well, both are doubles, as Fox are meant to be broadcasting all games from the quarter finals onwards; that would be the only way they'll be covering the 10 game minimum.

They don't need to be on 2 channels. The 2nd game is in Perth, so kicks off 2.5 hours after the first. They can be one after the other on the same channel. Even if it goes to penalties, they should fit it in. They could just delay the 2nd kick off a couple of minutes if need be.
