Nah wouldn't think so, they'd want a HAL stadia with as many people as they can get.

This. Will probably be held at Amy Parks. Or Etihad.

If Bentleigh make it I reckon AAMI park would be a goer.

Specially with the green seats haha.

Surely lakeside. There would be interest from football fans because:

a)It's the final
and
b) they would have just knocked off an A-League side

but i can't see enough of them turning up to see a small NPL side (let's be honest) taking on an interstate side to justify AAMI Park. Lakeside however would be full and the terraces packed which would be a great night.

Glory's youth team play Newcastle on Saturday as well - 8am (!!) kickoff so they will be over east, but also backing up with only a two day break.

yeah it could be - stuffed up twice it seems - game is against CCM (played Newcastle last round). I got the kick off time from both the Glory and FFA websites which probably corrects time to WA time.

Surely it's not hard for Perth Glory to prioritise the FFA Cup match over the Youth League Match, ie give 3-4 players a week off in the Youth league so they are fresh for the Cup and if that's too radical give them 45 mins in the Youth league rather than a full game.

So do we know if the final is locked in for December 16? surely it can be moved to Dec 13 or 20 for the sake of a half decent audience?

Would be good to see a packed Hindmarsh for the final ;)

Yeah that's what I was thinking.

Better to move a HAL game to mid week and maximise The Cup imo.

If Bentleigh somehow get through to the final, and it's held in Melbourne, I wouldn't mind a mid-week game, given I'm in Melbourne 'till the 16th.

Let's say Perth and Adelaide get through, you could play the final at Hindmarsh on the 20th in the 5pm timeslot before the Melbourne derby, maybe start at around 4 to allow for possible extra time/pens. It would be the massive arvo/evening of football that the first Melbourne derby/ACL final should have been.

The problem is two more A-League fixtures would have to be postponed. Worth it IMO.

FFA Cup: Bolters Bentleigh Greens have chance to make Cup final with win over Perth Glory
Updated about 9 hours agoMon 10 Nov 2014, 4:08pm

The Victorian state league side host A-League guns Perth Glory in a night to remember for the suburban club.

Bentleigh coach and former NSL striker John Anastasiadis said the quarter-final, won 2-1 over Adelaide City in extra time, was the biggest in the club's history.

Greens midfielder Luke Pilkington said that left no doubt over how big the semi-final was for the club.

"The whole club is buzzing about it," he said.

Not surprisingly, Pilkington is a signed-up member of the FFA Cup fan club.

The competition, which blends professional A-League and semi-pro state level clubs and below, has won the hearts of grassroots soccer fans around the country.

The 24-year-old former Melbourne Victory player said the occasion was one to relish for fans and players.

"With the support we got two weeks ago from our home crowd, it really brings the atmosphere in and makes it special to be a part of," he said.

Now they just have to win it.

Bentleigh's run to the FFA Cup semis:

Competition   Round   Result
Dockerty Cup   Rd 64   Bentleigh Greens 3 St Kilda 0
Dockerty Cup   Rd 32   Bentleigh Greens 3 Moreland Zebras 1
Dockerty Cup   Rd 16   Bulleen Lions 0 Bentleigh Greens 1
Dockerty Cup   QF   Richmond 1 Bentleigh Greens 3
*Bentleigh Greens made the semi-finals of the Dockerty Cup, the state knockout cup.
This gave them one of four Victorian spots in the FFA Cup draw.
Competition   Round   Result
FFA Cup   Rd 32   Blacktown City 0 Bentleigh Greens 1
FFA Cup   Rd 16   Sydney Olympic 1 Bentleigh Greens 2
FFA Cup   QF   Bentleigh Greens 2 Adelaide City 1

Glory - who have beaten Melbourne Victory, Bentleigh's fellow Victorian grassroots club St Albans Saints and Newcastle Jets to reach the final - will look to cash in on strong A-League form to win the first edition of the cup.

Perth sit top of the A-League and boast Irish international striker Andy Keogh in their ranks.

But Bentleigh, who has beaten New South Wales grassroots sides Blacktown City and Sydney Olympic as well as Adelaide City to earn their place in the last four, do have one major advantage.

Glory's A-League win over the Mariners came just 48 hours earlier in Gosford.

Not that Bentleigh's players watched it, choosing to train at the same time.

"I'm sure someone's taped it and JA (Anastasiadis) will be keeping an eye on it," Pilkington said.

"We've scheduled training on top of it to keep our minds on us.

"We'll go out there, leave nothing on the pitch and see what comes of it."

It is that refreshing lack of ruthlessness that has made the FFA Cup so appealing.

Pilkington suggests the competition will hot up in future - as it is not only a chance to upend the pros, but to win professional contracts in the main game.

"It's a great chance to get a bit of the spotlight; it's awesome for us players," Pilkington said.

"I think everyone next year will be taking this competition even more seriously."

The match between Bentleigh Greens and Perth Glory will be broadcast live on Grandstand Digital and streamed live here.
