What is the Northern Zone ?

The Northern Zone (NorZone) is centred in Darwin, including the surrounding rural areas.

All competitions are managed by the Football Federation Northern Territory.

The football competition in Darwin is a traditional 'winter' season. In the Top End it is referred to as the 'dry season'.

Chambers Bay in the north
South following the Adelaide River to the Adelaide River township in the south, and

That article was for the qualification of this years Cup. I imagine the same procedure applies for the upcoming qualification process, but I agree with you.

I can't see how all the regional centers can't have their own qualification tournament (like what I imagine will happen in the NT) and the winners all then enter at some point, or then all play off in another separate tournament for the Waratah Cup.

All the states should have conference playoffs for entry into their respective cup competitions.

I would imagine teams in Griffith, in fact any team in NSW would have to apply for the Waratah Cup. I'm pretty sure the Waratah Cup is open to any team in NSW (except those in FFNNSW - they've their own cup competition they apply for). You'd have to be willing to travel though. I daresay an amateur team in Griffith, would be placed in the very first rounds of the Waratah Cup, and might be drawn against somebody like - Sans Souci FC, or a park football team from Sydney. They'd have to drive all the way out to Sydney, and then all the way back to Griffith, mid-week. Would that be possible?

Can confirm that the winner of the 2014 NPL - MetroStars - are the first qualified team from the member states through to the 2015 FFA Cup. :)

Chances are SA will have more spots next year as it seems the FFSA have come to an agreement with the amateur league which will probably double the numbers from last year.

My guess for 2015 is either NSW loses 2 spots (for the NPL Champions & NT Champions) or NSW loses 1 spot and the other is lost by either QLD or VIC

After a few years (say 2017 or 2018) the number of NPL spots should start to be decided by a quotient of some sort based on previous years results, and hopefully in ten years time the cup expands to 64 teams

If the 32 teams is retained then at some point the NT, TAS, ACT and 2nd*NNSW team might end up needing to playoff against each other into the Round of 32 if as a worst case scenario they are losing first up year after year against the other states

LIGHTS UP AT PERRY PARK

The PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues 2014 season is over but that does not mean the Brisbane Strikers' home ground, Perry Park, has gone into a kind of hibernation.

Quite the reverse, in fact. As reported earlier this year, the traditional home of Queensland football is set for a makeover in preparation for its use as an AFC Asian Cup training venue and under the agreement struck between Brisbane Strikers and Brisbane Roar to share the use of the ground going forward.

Office refurbishments have been underway for some time inside the Bill Waddell Stand. But outside, the first visible signs of progress with the playing arena are now also taking shape with the removal of the old floodlights and installation of smaller but more intense and power-efficient new ones that will make the ground suitable for hosting Westfield FFA Cup fixtures next year and beyond.

The FFA Cup has been a great success yet the showpiece match is tucked away on a Tuesday just prior to Christmas.

Should be New Years Day imo.

Being played where it is due to the Asian Cup.

Will be Australia Day from then on.
