It's an interesting one, I would say yes but not in the same way that AC, Blue Eagles or Campbelltown City around them are. Maybe because they're much newer. I'd say that they're just a local club in a predominantly Italian area, not neccesarily an "Italian" club. Edited by dsriggs: 28/6/2015 09:46:49 PM I don't think you'd be wrong in that assessment.

Sounds like Hoppers Crossing. A council club that is 80% italians just because the area became populated by morr and more italians.

Windsor Athletic played at the Fourth Avenue ground from 1960 to 1986. They were known as Windsor Melita for their last few years. Windsor evolved from West Adelaide, a club that could trace its origins back to 1925. Metro Stars have produced players like Fabian Barbiero, Michael Matricciani and Jason Spagnuolo, who have all gone on to play for Adelaide United. Edited by localstar: 29/6/2015 08:48:14 AM

PerthSC Twitter wrote:Hey Australia,10 things you should know about us before Wed's @FFACup draw http://t.co/l5OcCn7D0D @FootballWest http://t.co/XLbtwUdF1xhttp://perthsc.com.au/news-and-events/show/167/10 things you should know about Perth SC ahead of Wednesday's FFA Cup Round of 32 draw: 1. Our history dates back to 1948 and the formation of Azzurri. In 1987, Perth Italia Soccer Club was formed after a merger between Perth Azzurri, arch-rival East Fremantle Tricolore and Balcatta Etna. The intention of the merger was to create a club capable of obtaining Perth's first NSL licence. East Fremantle and Balcatta have since de-merged. 2. We are the most successful club in Western Australia. Since 1948, we have won 20 league titles, 11 cup and 19 Night Series titles. 3. Several Socceroos have been produced and/or played for our club, including Gary Marocchi, Robbie Dunn, Sean Murphy, Chris Coyne, Richard Garcia, Adrian Madaschi and Nikita Rukavytsya. 4. We were semi-finalists in the 1968 Australia Cup, losing to eventual winners Sydney Hakoah. During that tournament, we beat West Adelaide Hellas, South Melbourne Hellas and Melbourne Juventus in the earlier rounds. 5. Gary Marocchi is our club president. Gary is a former Socceroo captain and the inaugural coach of Perth Glory when it entered the NSL in 1996. He is also a former player and coach of Perth SC. 6. Our coach Taki Nicolaidis is a former State league player who represented the Perth Kangaroos in their only season in the Singapore Premier League in 1994. Taki is in his third season at the helm of the club. 7. Our club captain and former English professional Clark Keltie is the current McInerney Ford Gold Medallist - the fairest and best player of the NPL WA in 2014. 8. Next month, five of our junior teams will travel to Sweden to take part in the Gothia Cup, the world's largest youth tournament. The club is proud to be selected to carry the Australian flag at the tournament's opening ceremony. 9. The club will undertake a multi-million redevelopment of its home ground, Dorrien Gardens, over the next couple of years, including the replacement of natural grass to synthetic turf. seen the comments, some bloke on there saying 'you only promote rugby'. didn't even know rugby existed in NT. FFA should be doing everything they can to get into the media in NT and TAS where there is zero professional sport representation for those states and their cities (except AFL clubs playing the odd match up there).

TheSelectFew wrote:Who can and can not host A-League clubs I was under the impression that the Perth teams would have to play at the athletics place again. Palm Beach cant. Lions would have to play at Perry Park or QASC. FNQ can host. Darwin can host. Pretty sure Gungahlin Enclosed Oval would have good enough lights. South Hobart are at Bellreive. Assume the SA teams would play where they played the state final? or Marden/marsden . Think all of the vic teams can host. (not sure about oakliegh) . Not sure about Sydney.

Balmain FC is going to be interesting to see where they play regardless of whom they play should they host. There normal ground is Wentworth Park, the greyhound racing track in Glebe. However, they've been playing their home cup fixtures at 5Sports Caringbah in the Sutherland Shire. I'm led to believe they're a sponsor of Balmain, hence them moving their night Cup fixtures there. However, going on that link, they don't appear to have the facilities required to host a broadcast, let alone a crowd. I think if they draw a non A-League club, they'll move the game to Lambert Park in Leichhardt, where Balmain FC once called home briefly for few years. Against an A-League team, you'd think they'd have to utilize Leichhardt Oval. It'd be beautiful. :)

Someone told me today that they will play the FFA Cup games at the ground they played the final at, Elite System sports centre. I would prefer Marden tbh but I guess the pitch is in poor condition atm.

Both, I doubt Polonia's ground will have the capable Lux. I would love it if they both just played it at home, what is the required Lux?

Apparently in SA the only grounds with approved lighting are: Hindmarsh Stadium The Parks - artificial pitch Adelaide Shores - artificial pitch Burton Complex Marden Sports Complex SA Athletics Stadium From a distance perspective, Parks is just down the road from Croydon's ground and Marden's about the same from Metrostar's. BTW The Parks = Elite Systems Stadium and it's where AU's NPL side play their home games Edited by mcjules: 29/6/2015 10:03:22 PM
