Apparently Babalj has been killing it and could've scored two goals, one almost squeezed past the keeper and another was cleared off the line. Oh, that is a brilliant goal from Cirio!

melbourne_terrace wrote:It might still be a bit of a dump but i love how NIB Stadium has kept the main stand from the old Perth Oval. Gives the place a great sense of local history compared to the boring bowl design of most modern stadiums. All they gotta do now is extend the shed across the whole end and the place would be rocking. I love NIB. When I went over last season, I sat at the top of the massive stand, and the view was amazing. Sun setting over the cityscape was amazing. The stand was so incredibly steep as well, you're very high up but still quite close to the pitch.

I mean if so many A-League clubs complain about how hard it is to break even then how on earth would a club like Palm Beach or Sorrento afford playing at Skilled Park and NIB Stadium. You'd imagine FFA or the state federation comes to to the table. It's not always about HAL teams though, it's lighting requirements for them to play there. -PB Pretty sure Balmain forked out to hire Leichhardt Oval. IIRC, they said they needed 1,500 to break even. I daresay that was hire to open only half the stadium, and the hill wasn't accessible. Leichhardt Council operated that small pop-up canteen/bar, so I daresay they charged an additional fee for that, and would have charged more to open the big canteen, and the rest of the stadium. That's awesome if correct. The club would have made a nice profit that night. With skilled Park I remember Clive Palmer claiming it cost him $40k to have one side open. I would think that would be way too much for a club like Palm Beach. so I highly doubt they would fork out that money on their own. I'm thinking maybe the FFA helps when it is the game they pick to televise which needs to be moved for lighting or other reasons. It costs $5000 to open the 1 stand of CBUS stadium for the Sharks.

The goals are raining now but imo Olympic have been at least competent in their game. Idk if Olympic are this competitive usually or if they are just playing up for the occasion, but my impression so far is that NT football should be given at least a pathway to the NPL Finals.
