Just got back from the club where I watched the game. I'm actually not that upset. I honestly went into the game thinking we were well and truly outsiders, despite me throwing a Sydney win on a multi, but I wasn't expecting us to push that right to the final whistle almost.

First half was a story of two halves. First 22 minutes or so, our high pressing could have seen us snatch another goal or two, but in the end a fantastic shot and display by the Beast From Canowindra to catch Eugene off his line like that. Ii thought overall Grant had a good game for us. The second half of the first half we started tiring, Adelaide were finding holes in our defence like the German Army going through France. Probably lucky to be all even at the break.

Second half I felt we were the better team. In a regular season match, I felt a draw would have been fair for both teams. But given we were basically playing without 5 of our first team, I thought we did very well. Credit to the boys, I thought they did very well given the circumstances especially against a fairly full-strength Adelaide team. Encouraging signs. Would have been nice to progress, but all the best to Adelaide, I really hope you guys win it 2 years running.

What was going on with the pitch though? First half it looked like the spinklers had broken, there was a lot of underfoot standing water. Could see it when the ball it the ground, and when players ran, they were splashing through the turf. A lot of our players kept slipping over too. Has it been raining heavily in Adelaide recently?

Very impressed with Ninkovic. He looks like he's going to be a really good addition to our team this year. Hopefully he and Holosko form a great partnership.

Happy enough with that despite the loss. Matching a full strength Adelaide with a second string side isn't something we would have done last year.

I think I prefer Simon up front to Smeltz he gives the defence so much more to worry about.

Agree, except I don't see Simon as a 90 minute player for us. Remember, we also have Holosko and Brosque we can move up front. Really disappointed we didn't see Brosque, at least on the bench.

To be fair, I think a lot of people will be in denial for the rest of the season over Simon. I don't think a lot of fans are ready to accept that he's a Sydney player yet. It certainly still feels weird, kinda wrong in a way, to call him a Sydney player. I don't think people will be comfortable unless he goes on and scores 10+ goals this season for us.

Will be attending the MetroStars vs Oakleigh Cannons game.

No m80 banner, just getting a taste of the local game.

Run down the local newsagency and get yourself a nice big red sheet of cardboard - you know the ones you did your assignments on in Primary School?! - and a thick Sharpie, and write "M80 Army" in big block letters. Find where the TV cameras are, or just stand behind the goal and wave it like crazy every time the ball comes near the goal lol.

8 out of 11 NSW clubs (27.27%) OUT, 5 out of 6 Victorian clubs (83.33%) still IN.

Special shout out to South Melbourne for fucking up an otherwise 100% trend of Victorian excellence, but every class has one paste eater, I guess.

I'd be happier than anyone to watch them lose to Edgeworth, as they so almost did, but facts are facts, Victoria is the strongest state for football, even with a joke club like City being propped up in Victory's shadow.

I MIGHT actually do this. Just scribble "m80" on a piece of cardboard big enough to be seen on an SD stream, punch some holes in it with a hole puncher and then attach it to a fence that will be in view of the camera and tie it to the fence with my AUFC shoelaces.

Just so that the m80 army has some South Aussie representation during the FFA Cup.

Sydney FC fans delivering the excuses for Arnie on Facebook.

After Sydney FC posted that regular time had ended in a 1-1 draw, one fan had already given up hope and said "Glorified pre-season cup".

Also saw several fans claiming that the ref was shit, the ref was against Sydney, the ref was on Adelaide's side.

Hahahahahaha Sydney FC fans complaining about being screwed over by the ref oh god the irony I can't even hahahahahahaha

But to be fair, you get those comments on all the clubs facebook pages. If we had won it in ET, Adelaide's would have been the same.

I don't think people think so much that about the FA Cup. The FA Cup, is the FA Cup. The League Cup (which is still somewhat prestigious), and perhaps the Johnstone's Paint Tophy perhaps I could understand people thinking that.
