Great attendance when you factor in it's a weeknight and the opponent doesn't have much of a fanbase, the club did a great job promoting this though via social media and getting the word out. But is also highlights how different things are when you have no competition...it was a stand alone game, the npl1 and lower leagues haven't started yet, no afl etc...it was probably the only sporting event on last night.

When south hosts it's next match in 2 months time you will probably have 20 matches going on in Victoria at once and footy will be back...that's when it gets hard.

We need to qualify for the FFA cup this year...if you can get 3.5k against oakleigh you could triple that against an A league side with the fox sports hype and general mainstream attention that follows.

Wait till we end up playing each other at Lakeside for a real Melbourne derby. Old Soccer vs New Football, the biggest clubs of each era, effniks vs #broadbased, the history of lakeside. Would get more hype than any other game for years.

Were you at the friendly in 2007? About 7-8k rocked up when the match was organised about a week earlier...15k crammed into lakeside for FFA cup would be epic...even though MV would win pretty comfortably.

No I wasn't but the common consensus among those that were there is that it meant far more than any game we've played against Heart or City.

Just got home from knights v Avondale.. knights looked very shaky first half horrible mix up led to Avondale taking the lead ... But knights came back strong in the second half wining 3-1.

Barisic looked like he done his groin and uskok looked shaky as well.

Also something happened with the MCF but I was on the other side so no idea

Goff and Catherine play for Richmond, by the way, so it should have been a red and more than 6-0!

Very annoying that we don't play till the end of the NYL. FFV and FFA need to sort this out next season and have one of the games midweek. Once we have a couple of teams underneath the yoof squad, we'd certainly benefit from getting as many of them playing 90 minutes in the team each week.

Avondale won't be mugs this season, outplayed MK in the first half and maybe unlucky not to go 2-0 up.

Love how MK and SM post highlights every week, wish more clubs did.

went to bullen vs moreland tonight.. terrible game both sides seemed more intent on killing each other than playing football. Bullen won 1-0 with a late goal. Moreland had a player sent off and bulleens keeper should have been sent off in the first half. The ref never really had control of the game dishing out yellows left right and centre. Neither side really looked that great in the end.
