As for the celebrating with the crowd, I don't think it should be a card, but it is. If VdV wasn't already on a card I would be willing to bet he would've got a card for it.

In what world is that 'clear'? There's y'know, a fucking ARM covering the potential contact point on Van Der Vaart's chest! There's no shadow or depth perception in that photo. It doesn't demonstrate anything.

Watch a video from the other angle, its clear that it hits the chest/shoulder joint. After it pops up off the shoulder it gives the appearance that its come off his arm but if you go through frame by frame it definately comes off his shoulder. The picture you've put up doesn't even prove that the ball is in contact with the arm at that stage, the ball could be 5cm away for all you can tell. Close to a handball but not close enough.

Everytime I see the photo I look at Arteta. He looks like WTF have I got myself into, they defend worse than Everton.

Oh, and the 3 man central midfield was just absolutely sublime - Lampard, Meireles and Ramires all rotating and the constant ball movement was just sensational to watch.

Portugal 3-1 up over Iceland in the 61st minute and the game between Andorra and Ireland has reached full time with the score 2-0 to the Irish. Didn't catch the first half or either of the goals but got the win and avoided complacency and leaves us just needing to hold Armenia at home on Wednesday morning to qualify for the play-offs. Would be nice if we get the three points and Macedonia somehow win against Russia though.

In our hands now to grab that playoff spot.
