I'm travelling with a mate and still looking for accommodation. We are following Australia and England so leaving the day after each Australia game, or on same day.
Anyone still looking? Maybe we could combine to get a large apartment or house in each city.
Places still to book Manaus (Eng vs Italy) Porto Alegre (Aus vs Netherlands) Curitiba (Aus vs Spain) Belo Horizonte (Eng vs Costa Rica )
Edit: spell check curitiba and add opponents

2x Round of 16 games, Match 51 and Match 53
Quarter Final game something like Match 59.
Will be staying til after the Final so hopefully get a ticket for one of the Semis while over there.

Went with GGA as we had already planned the rest of our trip and they make it really easy. Also have friends who are going with GGA. Certainly not cheap though!
Unfortunately couldn't get Spain tix, which I'm shattered about. Has anyone heard about getting tix to game once you are in Brazil. Officially or unofficially? Cracking trip. And I've heard nothing more than you would've read for yourself on GGA's site. There's still one more sales phase, which'll include returned tickets for the first time. Not sure how significant that is though. Most of the stuff I've read on GGA and similar sites, say you won't have much trouble sourcing illegally over there. But I can't know for sure...

I will be in Fortaleza from 12 June to 3 July and seeing 5 matches there, though only Australia if they top their group!
Will be Rio for the last 11 days with GGA in Copacabana.
I am traveling by myself for most part but know a couple of others heading over.
I have two weeks before and after the world cup. I will likely travel up the coast between Recife and Fortaleza before 12 June and then around Rio, maybe even travel up to Buzios, after the world cup.

Basically hit the jackpot, taking my dad to his (and my) first World Cup as it is probably the last one in a country he would like to go to that he will be able to go to. Itinerary:
May 30 : Australia -> USA (LA/DC/NYC) June 7 : NYC -> Rio June 13 : Rio -> Cuiaba (Tickets to Aus v Chile) June 14 : Cuiaba -> Porto Alegre (Tickets to France v Honduras, Australia v Netherlands, Korea Republic v Algeria) June 22 : Porto Alegre -> Curitiba (Tickets to Australia v Spain) June 24 : Curitiba -> Porto Alegre (Tickets to Nigeria v Argentina, Round of 16 1G v 2H) July 1 : Porto Alegre -> Manaus (3 day Amazon fishing trip) July 5 : Manaus -> Jericoacoara (Mid-holiday chill out. Kite surfing and sand boarding :D) July 8 : Jericoacoara -> Recife (Really keen to see Recife, a lot of interesting buildings and apparently a cultural heart) July 12 : Recife -> Brasilia (Tickets to 3rd place play-off) July 13 : Brasilia -> Sao Paulo July 15 : Sao Paulo -> Australia
*Also have tickets to any knock-out matches Australia makes, however unlikely that is. Won't screw up our itinerary unless they make the QFs though, so not too concerned there ;)
Everything booked and tied up, aside from the last few nights accommodation in the US as we are still deciding how many days to spend in each city on our whirlwind tour. The Chile match and the 3rd place play-off are going to be very tight getting from the airport to dropping off our luggage and getting to the stadium but hopefully we will make it. Going to assess what to do with our time off between matches closer to the trip. We are keen to see the Pantanal and Iguazu Falls, and I'd like to see Florianópolis if there is time. Would love to see more of South America, but that may have to be a return trip later in life.
Apparently some good wreck diving in Recife, so I'm considering doing an open water diving course prior to leaving. I've been hitting the gym, road and pool pretty hard as my ankle is finally healed up post-surgery and I want to be super irresponsible and run up the Corcovado to Christ the Redeemer, haha (crazy elevation! Like 700m!) Also two weeks into a short course on beginners Portuguese. All very exciting!
Don't see the value in the tours, it cost the same to do our entire trip as the tour for the Australian matches would have (and that was without airfares to Brazil!). There's the camaraderie factor, but it surely won't be difficult to find other Aussie fans over there. That only leaves the convenience factor of having flights and accommodation booked for you, which really is trivial if you decide soon enough what you are doing (we were almost rooted as I wasn't going to go until the last minute so I'd given Dad a voucher for a travel agent as he isn't confident enough to sort things himself. The agent was useless and when it turned out I was going too I gave up and booked everything myself aside from the flights between the US and Brazil to use the voucher. Just managed to get good flights and accommodation - a week later and we would have been spending Cuiaba in the airport.)

Nice work.
I didn't quite have the money, but decided I can't miss it. I'm 25 and single, it's in Brazil. I'll probably have 3 kids, 2 cars and 1 mortgage in 4 years. Plus it's Russia then Qatar, this is the one to go to. So I quit all hobbies, suspended plans for a re-location, and am saving money with a ferocity I didn't think possible. Dying for June 4 to roll around atm.
After a couple nights in Santiago and Sao Paulo, we've got 6 nights in Cuiaba*. Then off to Porto Alegre on the 16th-20th, followed by Curitiba 20th-25th. Then we'll be in rio for the majority of the round of 16. Int and domestic flights, plus accommodation all booked, then we got dicked by the ticket ballot - So far we just have tickets to Aus-Ned.
Didn't end up booking with the fanatics or GGA either, which saved us a stack of money, but the hassle increases ten fold.
Also, a great idea Canberran, the stop over in Florianopolis. We probably should have looked at something like that, rather when the draw came out, we jumped on everything too quickly.
*My preference was for 2 or 3 nights max in Cuiaba, but domestic flights and budget dictated a longer stay

I started a thread a while back I think (couple years ago maybe), but it got lost I'm sure. General chat, enquiries about travel to Brazil etc.
Who's making the trek to South America? Seeing Socceroos games? Got tickets for what games? Going to which cities? On a Tour etc?
Was lucky enough to get tickets to all three Australia games in the PMA ballot, along with the three others I'm going with. Over the moon about that. Flying out of Sydney on June 9 into Sao Paulo before heading to Cuiaba on the 12th, Porto Alegre on the 15th and Curitiba on the 19th. Cheeky stop in Florianopolis between the Dutch and Spain games. Head to Rio after the Australia-Spain game, and at this stage I think I might go to Buenos Aires for a week but not certain on that. Then fly out to Europe after that. We're doing it independently, weren't keen to head on a tour TBH.
Can't wait. Hoping everything goes smoothly in the lead up and whilst we're there.
