Does anybody know where to get Socceroos World Cup playing strips with the same coat of arms as the players wear? I mean the one incorporating each state's coat of arms, rather than the stupid FFA emblem.

The ones at Rebel Sport and the ones on the FFA website seem to have the FFA emblem as the coat of arms.

Those are only for the players . It's against australian law for anyone to wear unless representing the country in anything

Where there's a will, there's a way...

I've got the 2001 playing strip that the players wore and it has the superior Australian coat of arms

Unless you hit up a player or know a kit man then you won't find any. Unless the ffa have a small release but I wouldn't count on it .

Quite likely the Thais will make replica ones. Same fabric, same print, same tags on the inside. They're fake, technically, but basically identical and often off the same production line as the real ones. That's what they've done in the past. I got a 2006 one like that and there was absolutely no difference between it and the ones you buy at Rebel Sport back home.

You can possibly find a match-worn one on ebay but you'd have to pay through the nose for it.

The coat of arms is used to identify Australian government authority and property and accordingly the coat of arms should never be used where it could wrongly imply a formal guarantee, sponsorship or endorsement by the Commonwealth.[7] Use of the arms by private citizens or organisations is rarely permitted; however, there are provisions for use by sporting bodies and in educational publications. Use of the coat of arms without permission may be in breach of Sections 53 (c) (d) and (e) of the Trade Practices Act 1974, Section 145.1 of the Criminal Code Act 1995 or Section 39(2) of the Trade Marks Act 1995.

So in effect the FFA are welcome to print the Coat of Arms on the real Socceroos shirts but aren't allowed to sell them.

That means if you want to wear our national insignia, you have to earn it. I like that.

Yeah I've seen those, also my 2006 vintage has a generic football placed over the shield, but look at the close ups in the replays from when they played the National Anthem in Germany and you'll see the real deal.

For sure ebay has some match worn ones but like you said , you will pay top dollar for them . I tried to buy a džeko bosnian top but I wasn't willing to pay for an i30 for it

It's also that the crest is the intellectual property of the Australian government.

Yep . Like I said it's kinda illegal for anyone to wear it without permission or who didn't serve the country

Yeah I, too, like the fact that one has to earn the right to wear that crest. Even though it makes it tougher to get hold of one, it's still more special for the players, and it will be pretty awesome if I end up getting hold of one.

Plus the other good thing about it is that if you buy a match-worn one on eBay, you can be more sure of its authenticity, on account of it being so difficult to get hold off those playing strips in the first place.

I'm pretty sure my 2006 one (which I got in Thailand but is identical to the Rebel Sport ones) also had a football in the middle of the crest. So obviously that wasn't exactly the same as the one the players wore. My 2001 was the same as the one the players wore (proper coat of arms). But the 2006 replica coat of arms is better than this current replica coat of arms because the 2006 one has the proper Australian coat of arms with a football in the middle, whereas this one has the FFA emblem.

The downside to the fact that my 2006 Thailand one was the same as the replica ones is that I'm inclined to believe Socceroo shirts in Thailand this time round will also be replica ones.

The bit about the Australian coat of arms being property of the Australian Government explains why Cricket Australia have so many logos, and only the players wear the proper coat of arms as theirs.

If anybody hears about where to get playing strips identical to those the Socceroos wear, please chuck it on this thread.

So is driving 5km over the limit and gang rape. The latter of which tends to entail a comparatively lighter punishment.

Yes they won't call in SWAT for someone selling trinkets with the Coat of Arms on them, but it is indeed against the law, and more to the point assumedly contrary to commercial agreements the FFA would have with the Commonwealth, etc.

1. Buy fake top with coat of arms from Thailand
2. Wear it for training a number of times so it looks match-worn.
3. Sell on ebay
4. Profit! $$$

Because although it is illegal, you hardly expect our government to invest our tax dollars in kicking the doors down of everyone making any trinket with the Coat of Arms on it while murderers and peados are on the loose. FFA obviously have various arrangements with the Commonwealth and hence adhere to the rules, also creating the desirable condition as I said before being the only way to get an authentic kit with the Australian Coat of Arms is by earning it.

I hate that patch on the jersey.

Why couldn't they just have printed the same coat of arms on the jersey instead of having that stupid patch
