Leeds lost to Derby County 1 - 0, and Crystal Palace lost 2 - 0 to Southampton, so Blackpool move above both to go into 7th.

Unfortantely Reading won there match 3 - 0 so they stay above us by a single point.

Cardiff drew there game though so we can only jump above Reading if results favour us next round. Still, that brings us into the playoffs.

Downing was poor. Ran a lot but was incredibly wasteful with the ball. When he got a decent touch on the cross he had no idea where Carroll was. When he had Carrol right in front of him he put the ball into touch. When he had a shot he put it into orbit. His ball use was awful.

It's pretty obvious that we need another striker. A natural finisher. What worries me is Liverpool's reputation for ruining strikers and that we have a record for not signing that blatantly obvious necessity.

It is a bit of both tbh. We squandered far too many chances - but then we get denied by these amazing saves by the fucking reserve keeper and a 17yo clearing off the line :lol:

That's the thing though. If not for the poor finishing that save and clearance wouldn't matter.
