If Australia were somehow to not win, then Brazil or Argentina. I believe that final is possible, so I'm tipping that. If I had to go one way, then Brazil.

If they both top their groups then they'll be on opposite sides of the draw.

I'm going with Argentina v Germany in the final.

Italy's current situation:

- League in turmoil due to low crowds and underperfoming European representation.
- Match-Fixing probes ongoing with players like Stefano Mauri getting suspended.
- No certainty on who will lead the line with Rossi injured, Osvaldo hopeless and Balotelli being Balotelli.
-Juventus coasting to the league title
- Unconvincing displays in recent friendlies.
- Mentioned by absolutely nobody as potential winners in Brazil.

If history is anything to go by, the Italians are pretty much certainties to win it.

Looks like they're pretty desperate for Rossi to play it would seem.

it's going to need a very good team to stop brazil, if Messi's injury free then argentina could win it, spain a chance too I still consider spain the best team

I have serious hopes that Japan will sneak through to the 3v4 playoff, but I'll be putting money on them to win it just because I imagine they will have great odds and I love that team and think it can be competitive against any team on their day.

They could get let down by that defence, but they've got so much talent going forwards it's impossible to fit everyone in.

Higuain, Messi, Lavezzi, Di Maria, Aguero, Sosa in form....it seems almost cruel.

I'm going to laugh at this when Columbia and Ivory Coast get out of the group ahead of them :P

It's out of Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Spain and Italy IMO. Don't think Spain will win it again and I have high hopes for Italy but can't see us winning the WHOLE thing over in Brazil. So that leaves Germany, Brazil and Argentina, I reckon Brazil will make the final and lose to create riots, so that leaves Argentina and Germany. Holtby is German, so clearly the trophy is going to Berlin(won't be in the squad but his existence will be enough).

Japan deserve to make a semi. The football they play is stunning. They just lack decent defenders and its always their achilles heel.

Germany have a huge amount of talent available in midfield but it's hard to see where their goals are going to come from and who will lead the line.

Klose's only scored 7 times this season, Gomez has spent most of the season injured, Muller, Reus, Poldi and Schurrle aren't true strikers. Although Muller has been getting the nod up front they've been decidedly average in their recent friendlies.

SES as well. It's a shame that Totti isn't going though, would've loved to have seen him in the Azzurri one more time.

That didn't stop Muller last time, tbh I think both he and Reus are perfectly capable of stepping up and scoring consistently throughout the tournament.

 feel free. I really hope they surprise a lot of people though. Like I said, I don't think they'll go close to winning it but I feel like the odds will be enough for me to chuck a lazy bet on.

I'm tipping Brazil, European countries don't tend to do well in tournaments outside of Europe (never won a WC except for Spain) and Brazil with the home advantage will be enough to get them over the line. I still have a slight hope for Portugal especially if some of our younger players are given a chance.
