Mitch Oxborrow is no longer contracted to the Jerks. Quote:The Newcastle Jets have parted ways with midfielder Mitch Oxborrow, effective immediately.
Oxborrow will return to Perth in order to attend to personal matters and be with his family.
The Newcastle Jets will provide ongoing support to Mitch through this time. http://www.newcastlejets.com.au/article/jets-part-ways-with-mitch-oxborrow/bafr7jaupehnzhz6frw7c8gr

Ok, finally updated. Dispite not doing it for a month there were hardly any transfers, really. 20+ spots left to be finalised with less than 2 months to go.
For now, leaving McGlinchey with CCM til that is sorted.
Most complete team is Wellington, assuming they get McGlinchey they'll be first to have a full team. CCM will have 1 spot once he leaves.
Adelaide and Heartless still need at least one more player, and Sydney's list is a mess. No one on Youth Contract but because they only have Petkovski and Gerbach as their only U20 players, they need to sign at least one more of those and therefore can't utilise all their VISA spots.

Sydney have the u20 1st team contracts covered, Naumoff and Gligor are both u20. Petkovski is 21 and on one of the three full time youth team contracts.

You're right in that I've mixed Petkovski up, meant Gligor. I'm not sure Petkovski is young enough for an u21 NYL contract, but any source he's on that contract? Also Naumoff, I can't find anything for him being signed with the main team at all so any link for that would be good too. If he hasn't been signed you must wonder how Arnie rates him.

As Petkovski turned 21 this year it is the last he is eligible to be signed on that. He was originally signed on a youth contract along with Gligor and Triantis 2 seasons ago. Triantis was given a 2 year full time senior contract at the start of last season while both Gligor and Petkovski were given a years extension on youth contract, from which Gligor has since also been promoted to a senior full time contract.

Thank for Naumoff, I'll add him now, so that's their main squad filled for that quota. Gligor and Petkovski signed to the main team with Mitch Mallia, link: http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/news-display/cazarine-goes-as-sydney-release-four/46787So I don't think he takes up one of those spots as there's nothing about them being on NYL contracts and it all talks about them being in the main squad.

I think that is because they were on full time youth contracts, and so trained with the main squad. The Sydney website has updated the 1st squad to include all announced signings but doesn't include Petkovski. The yet to be updated youth squad, still the one from last year, includes Gligor and Petkovski. I don't think that they would have been included there if they had been on 1st team contracts.

Well, can't see them having 4 NYL contracts two seasons ago (Gligor, Petkovski, Mallia and Triantis) so surely something would have been reported if they were different contracts. I don't really trust the FFA squad lists, especially for Youth and Women's teams.
Easy way to find out for sure is for Arnie to sign 2 more players (both can be VISAs).

Didn't realise that MV still has 3 spots open...though, with Valeri and Delpierre in the cap, I do wonder how much space is left.

Croydon Kings (SA) defender Allan Welsh has signed a contract with Newcastle Jets. Croydon Kings (SA) Rocky Visconte had been offered a chance to play for Adelaide United on a month’s trial.

Daniel Georgievski has signed with Melbourne Victory for one season. Judging by his birthplace, I assume he is not considered a visa player. http://www.melbournevictory.com.au/article/daniel-georgievski-right-back-at-home-at-victory/wnd0v2m8kmr31iay7cq7m915rQuote:Melbourne Victory can today confirm it has signed Australian defender and Macdeonian capped international, Daniel Georgievski, on a one-year-deal.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or picked up. Jerks signed Allan Welsh for the 14/15 season. http://www.newcastlejets.com.au/article/jets-sign-allan-welsh/qh3q4v2ohe6z1iml9ssjb8eng

Updated, hopefully!
Admittedly surprised I'm listing down a 17/18 contract already - I think even Bridge's contract extension was only 3 seasons.
Edit: of course not, missed inputting Melbourne's new Maco. They have one less main squad spot than what is in the table.

I wonder... this may/may not be the thread for it, but if we did a 'Rejected A-League XI' or even squad, every season - how much better would each season's XI, squad, be? :-k Last season we could've had, prior to season start, the likes of Simon Colosimo and Matt Thompson, for instance? :-k
What kind of XI could be in-theory form for this coming season? Bear in mind that some players could still be signed up late into pre-season/early season, but so far the XI could comprise:
R>L
Tyson Je. Walker - McKain - Player?/Beauchamp? - Zahra Caravella - Player?/Matt Thompson? Minniecon - Player? - Visconte Chianese?
I suppose we 'could' count even players who have since signed up with small overseas clubs/leagues too - because we know if they could've, they probably would've signed with an A-League team/re-signed with their A-League clubs, if they had the opportunity. That's why I have Zahra there, despite he now being with a Maltese club with Beauchamp and Thompson (Thailand).

Updated. Squads looking quite settled now, only a few spots remaining if clubs wish to take them.
Out of interest has there been any contract extensions in last month that I've missed? Last one I did was Italiano

Other clubs are full or nearly there but both Adelaide and City both have three spots left, that's quite a lot considering the season has started.

It seems that the OP for this thread won't get updated until Perth Glory start losing, and by effect, AndyToddsElbow re-appears.
