Keen to make this happen and we're running out of time for a draft, just trying to work out a format...

I think we'll only take 16 teams but I'm trying to work out a clean way of structuring it. Similar to the Fantasy Euroone I guess

4 groups of 4, three rounds in the group stage, play everyone once and then top two go through .

8 teams left, at this stage we do a quick new draft.

Four fixtures in head to head format. Every team that progresses picks up a new player (will explain how that works in a minute) This is the R16 in the real WC

Another cut. 4 teams left, the semi final will run over the Quarter finals of the real tournament. The four teams who progress will pick up TWO new players.

And then the final. Our final will run over the course of the Semis and the Final IRL. So hopefully high scoring :lol:

The teams that progress will each nominate ONE player (first cut) or TWO players (second and third cuts) who was either a free agent, or a member of a fantasy team that has been eliminated. After we have all players nominated, I will assign a random word to each of them, and we will then choose a word each to be rewarded with one of the players from the pool (first in, first served). Essentially a random draw but a little bit more entertaining.

This adds an interesting element too - if you want to, you can nominate a shitty player and hope you don't get them. Or you can all nominate good ones.

Just to re-iterate what happens in the KO Stage:

Once the 8 teams that have made it through are decided, each of the 8 teams has to nominate ONE player. You have 12-16 hours to do this. Once these 8 players have been nominated, I will put them through a random generator and assign a word to each of them. I will then post the list of words.

At this point the 8 teams have to pick a word from the list. The four group winners have a 4 hour window where they can pick before the group runner ups. After the 4 hours its open for all 8. You should have about 24 hours to pick a word before the first R16 game kicks off.

After the R16 the process is the same except you nominate two players, and the same after quarter finals. The semi finals and final are all part of the same round in this comp.

Two more things:
KO round Fixtures will be randomly generated (so, winner of group A wont necessarily play runner up in group B - but they will be seeded, so winners will play runner ups)

And, tie break criteria in FEURO (I can keep it the same if you like)

Just discussing what the go is in the result of a draw in a KO game. So, if in the quarter finals we have a 0-0 or a 1-1 or something.

Tie breaking criteria will go in the following order:
A) Whichever team has scored the most total goals in the entire tournament progresses
B) Whichever team has players with the most ASSISTS in that round progresses
C) Whichever team has players with the most assists in the entire tournament progresses
D) If all of that is even, the forum can go fuck itself.

Also, discussing the way the KO round will work in regards to the progressing fantasy teams picking up more players:

Forgot to mention, although it's in the FEURO thread: you pick up 4 players in the first draft (17m max bid for one player)

We'll start draft on 3rd June.

Gives us 10 days until KO. Should be fine, we only had 10 days for FEURO draft and did it fine.

*****IMPORTANT INFO FOR ALL BIDS*****

We've all been involved in a few of these and we've seen how quickly it can descend into a shitfight.

With that in mind -

Your bid will NOT be accepted if you have not
1. Put the player(s) you are bidding on in bold
2. Quoted the entire list of previous bids from most recent post.

Of course we understand if you have posted 10 seconds after a previous list and are missing stuff from there, but for most situations, this is the rule we shall be following. Otherwise bids get lost and we have shitfights later.

Auctions will run for 3 days from the time of the first bid. When this period has expired, if there have been no bids in the last 12 hours, the player is won. If there HAS been a bid in the last 12 hours, the expiration gets pushed back until there has been a 12 hour period where there have been no bids. Same as FEPL.

Minimum raise is 0.5m. Minimum opening bid is 1m

If you end up with 6 players you will lose 2 competition points and have to return a player to the pool. You don't want that, so be careful.

You can at NO point be bidding on the market to a total of more than 20m (You can't have two bids of 12m running simultaneously, for example). If you do, most recent bid will be wiped and given back to whoever held him previously.

Lots of rules, but you're mostly familiar with this stuff by now :lol:

I'm going to increase the squad size from 4 to 5, btw. I think it's better, especially as we're adding keepers, having 5 players still means we can get a lot of good players involved IMO. So, 5 players per team. 16m is max bid for a player.
