I love all the furore about Suarez
Crouch did something similar a few weeks back v Man City and yet nobody cares. I love the fact everybody tries to put shit on him. It just makes him fight harder.

As bad as the handball was, and it was pathetic, I'm still not quite sure how the officials missed it. I mean it's not as if it wasn't blatantly obvious.

I think a defender was between the linesman and Suarez?

Fair play to Rodgers for coming out and saying it shouldn't have been awarded, although he couldn't really say much else

It's hardly Suarez's fault for playing the whistle.

And he would've been rightly blasted for it, just like Arsene is anytime he uses that excuse with something really blatant.

Like I said before, that Linesman is the same that raised the flag when Suarez scored against Everton in the last minute.
Either he felt bad for disallowing that goal, or he's just a shit linesman.

He could've easily done with Klose did and fessed up to the referee and he would've been commended for it. Instead he is being branded as a cheat, and quite rightly. You can blame the officials all you want but Suarez is the one who made the choice to cheat and has absolutely no right to complain about any criticism that comes from it. He's out there to play to the whistle. He's out there to win. To criticise him for doing what he's paid to do is bullshit.
Consider the number of players who handle the ball before they score, and you can single out ONE player who's demanded the goal be rescinded.
Shit, I don't remember you being up in arms and enraged when Van Persie handled the ball before scoring a goal last season.

Edited by sydneycroatia58: 7/1/2013 06:31:53 PM Oh go fuck yourself. When do you ever see a defender stop the ref and say 'Yeah, that should've been a pen. You should give that'. Not even sure it was intentional, it came flying at him and hit his arm. He's been on the end of so many horrible decisions, he finally got one. Deal with it.

Shit, I don't remember you being up in arms and enraged when Van Persie handled the ball before scoring a goal last season. Obviously wasn't enraged, but definitely wasn't happy with it. Just like I was really disappointed with Santi's diving against West Brom earlier this season. Just saying it's a bit hard to complain about him being made out to be the villain when he keeps giving everyone ammo. You want to stop being made out to be a villain for diving, stop diving. You don't want to be made out to be a villain for blatantly cheating, don't do it, it's simple really. He made the choice to cheat and he and no fan has any right to complain about any criticism. It's the same with players that dive, they and their teams fans have no right to complain when they blatantly cheat.

What imno said.
I mean, shit, a penalty is awarded and all the defenders round on the referee. This form of cheating is accepted, but now Suarez is the biggest plague on the game because he played the game the way he was taught.

Suarez could have confessed but he chose not to. Good for him, he can obviously live with the consequences of his decision. Personally I would feel sick to win a game that way but that's just me. The thing I can't stand though is when Liverpool fans react to the criticism. If Suarez is gonna do that you should be expecting everything that comes to him, and don't whinge about how everyone hates him when it does. Of course he's gonna cop it for that, rightly so. Just accept it because it's always gonna be that way as long as he does things like this. Some Liverpool fans need to be more like Suarez in a way  He knows he's gonna cop it for some of things he does but he doesn't complain when he does get it because he knows it's coming. He seems to have got off quite lightly anyway, Thierry copped it way more.

This. Suarez hasn't copped it anywhere near as much as Henry did for essentially the same thing. I mean at least Mansfield aren't asking for the tie to be replayed

Yeah, just be thankful it's not the same backlash as Titi who copped it worldwide  Suarez is probably lucky he did it in an FA Cup tie against Mansfield Town, just imagine if he did it next weekend against United, oh boy

Oh come on, Henry physically HELD the ball. The ball just rebounded into Suarez's hand.
If it was any other player, people would be ripping the referee. But because it's Suarez people are ripping him.

You been a player ? so your telling us that in your local game similar to the lightning rebound handball as Luis's you would admit to the ref the ball touched your hand ? if so you would be one of the most rarest of rare strikers I have ever heard of in the game. All the hungry winning strikers I have played with wouldn't admit to the ref one bit and most were top good guys but in a game you play to win and thats all you care of its not a matter of living with the consequence in that kind of circumstance.. By the way I'm not whinging just telling it as it is. sydcro I'd love it happenning next week just to hear the whinning/bitching snitching from the other crowd

Well for starters, I'm not a striker  and secondly I'm really not that much of a rare case at all. There are plenty of people involved in all levels of football that not only realise that at the end of day this is just a game but also this is a game with quite clear rules and would confess to breaking one of those rules. Anyway, I never said that players like Suarez don't make up the majority when it comes to these sorts of matters, and I certainly never lambasted him for simply playing to the whistle. I think you missed the point of my post.
