Hi folks, I'm trying to figure out how the hell am I suppose to watch World Cup games in 'Murica. Official broadcaster here is ESPN, but it doesn't seem to work unless you have a mid to high tier cable TV subscription to begin with - even the online streams on ESPN won't work unless you have one. Plus I am not a fan of the American commentators.

My preferred commentators are the SBS guys and they said they will be streaming all games online...but those haven't exactly been reliable in the past. And they often block video contents for people outside of Australia. Can any insiders confirm? Trying to stream using a proxy will be a nightmare.

I've heard about www.ustvnow.com too, but it seems kind of dodgy.

Any help?

I believe the BBC are showing games and it will be Geo-block free. You might have to double check that.

I can't find information on Geo-blocking. Do you have a source?

Still can't believe it's not on free TV here. So much for being land of the free.

I could have sworn that FIFA mandates that the World Cup be shown on Free To Air television in every country screening it.

Looks like some ESPN contents will be free on their site, but I swear they are intentionally making it hard for you to find out what those are. :?
