Going to cancel my active support membership today. Feeling somewhat sad about it. Fuck the FFA

We decided to renew since the club has openly come out against FFA and supporting the fans. Had it not, our group of 6 would not have renewed. Will certainly be joining in whatever protest action will be happening at the start of the season though.

Same, Brisbane are against the FFA's new restriction and have spoken of ways to work around it.

I understand this sentiment however going and buying an active support membership is just playing into the FFA hands.

Better to go and buy an GA membership, therefore still supporting the club, however not giving the FFA the satisfaction.

Fuck having your details put on some hatamoto database.

The only reason why you give a fuck about your details being on the hatamoto database is because you fear you may get caught for doing something illegal.

And don't use the usual "invasion of privacy rhetoric" as a society we're well past that. The government and other entities have enough knowledge and personal data on you and could easily use it if needed. Who gives two rats if some company has your name and photo id. What possible damage could come by it if you are a law abiding citizen? It should only bother you if you're going to carry on like a bloody cunt with your flares and ultra want a be egos.

Please provide more insight about me and who I am. You obviously have my behavioural patterns down pat.

I actually go to quite a lot of effort to not have my details plastered on every companies databases. I believe that we as a society should take more action against the continual bombardment and invasions of information and privacy that arise from "the government and other entities " having all this knowledge.

So fuck you prick. I am not up to no good but I do believe in certain things which won't change just because I am a football supporter.

Kvnt

Explain to me how the negatives outweigh the positives in a situation like this whereby you are attending an event which his held on PRIVATE property. When you purchase a ticket you are also agreeing to certain terms and conditions.

I would like to know why you are so against it in this situation. It is clear as daylight that FFA want to stamp out issues that are being cause at a-league games, perhaps this may be the deterrent to ensure idiots don't fuck up. I would like to hear your side as to why you fear it so much??

Reading your sig "WE ARE HOOOLIGANS" is actually quite comical when it's preceded with your claim that you are "not up to no good..." Either way you sound like a fucking try hard.

Calm down Melbourne city fans.

Look i know you are excited but an update on your member numbers every phew hours is a bit much don't you think, anyway WSW and MVFC will beat that amount on the first day.

As a Wanderers member my response to your post is… =d> =d> =d> =d>

The FFA is cash poor and having two well supported teams in the second biggest market in the country can only drive the value of the broadcast rights and the FFA's sponsorship revenue up.

City's membership is now up to 3,874.

Melb City now 3886. Still 1.5 days left to get the hundred or so more members needed to reach the 4k milestone. If so they will have reached that mark a near full 2 months ahead of when they did last season (Well according to Clinton's post)! :o

I wonder Clinton, if you will re-post your on-going tally, soon? I like to keep an eye on it, as I presume a few of us do and may save a bit of spam elsewhere from some of us (Come EVERY update :p)?

Sounds a good idea, 'The Maco'?

Indeed, though we celebrate both. Wanderers for hitting their cap - the bigger question for them is whether they can sustain that 'level of demand' aswell as others who are still 'growing into' their respective markets - as Melbourne's second team seems to be finally doing! =d> Hopefully Victory can see some growth, but all the talk of active member dissatisfaction over recent FFA changes/some clubs or what not, seems rather concerning - hopefully they can re-balance their approach and if it's the approach that's required, given some fan behaviour, then hopefully fans adjust to the culture and there is some re-growth - once the FFA, clubs and fans come to a greater mutual-understanding on the ground. Which surely will be the case, over time.

Back to growth - Wanderers, SFC and Roar were the 'growth' clubs of last season - hopefully SFC and Roar can continue that trend this season. Seems we can add Melbourne City to the big movers list for this season. =d>

Anyone who doesn't renew their membership because of the recent FFA requirements coming on for active supporter areas are terrible fans.

I don't understand the big issue of having to provide your details; but hey if you're against it then I can respect that, as long as it's not because you are up to no good and want to hide your details from security.

But at a minimum you should instead just buy a GA membership

Yep, there is no need for me to buy a membership seeing how i live interstate but i did it anyway out of loyalty. The club and FFA have now decided to continue it's attack on supporters and disregard supporters so it makes it a very easy decision for me to stop buying a membership i don't need.

4k members... not bad.

Should be aiming to hit 7.2k before the season starts as a foundation.

Remember the aggressive marketing tactics haven't started yet (Whole page spreads in the paper, Billboards, TV commercials etc.)

Will certainly be a big boost if it happens.

May well be interesting for those Chelsea fans that want to go to matches to see Lampard but don't want to put money into the pocket of Manchester City

Wow - Old Heart/Melbourne City surely seem on-track to smash their own record and even exceed the 10k mark, even IF there is, as we might expect, a natural cooling off during the next couple of months? Another purple patch will hit come late pre-season and A-League lead-in, with membership advertising as too general A-League advertising and coverage kicking in, as too the mail out to tardy members renewing or new ones who are late comers etc... We saw this last year with all clubs and when considering City - if they already have 8k or so by September then they'll be trending well?

Though in terms of 'cooling off' it's hard to see at the moment, with the constant publicity feed filtering out - David Villa Guest, Damian Duff signed and now the publicity and speculation surrounding the very real possibility of Lampard. We wonder when this will let up?! Surely sooner rather than later - given is still a full three months till season start and A-L teams are early into their pre-seasons.

And indeed guys, 40% growth on the 6k hey had start of last season is now a realistic if conservative even, prospect! I'm thinking in the wash-up, whether Lampard happens or not, they could hit the 12-14k members mark?! :-k And a cooling off will naturally have to occur during these next two months - or else I get the sense, like in economics, that a bubble is forming and when the burst occurs it will be ever more dramatic.

Re-post and updated for new page:

Keep up the good work Clinton! =d>

The club's growth curve is technically a near full two months ahead of last season and at this rate, pushing towards a full three months!

FTR This is what concerns me with SFC member levels too and so I really hope that the absence of ADP does not diminish their efforts to push past 10k members and perhaps a new record level of members once more?! Hopefully having Arnie and a more genuinely stable an competitive squad may help off-set any negatives from ADP's absence. A relieving factor could be ADP's diminishing lustre, including injuries kicking in, back-end of his SFC experience - so the club and it's fans were already starting to learn to live without him.

Haven't seen it mentioned before
In victree's renewal brochure, it mentioned that all members would receive a "Victory Coin", which can be kept as a souvenir/momento/keepsake/thingy, redeemed for "exclusive" merch, or hand the coin back to the club, who in turn would donate a junior membership to one of their charity partners
As long as people didn't skip over this, can see many people donating the coin
