Phoenix are really letting down the competition if they are still at 1000, but i doubt they are.

Sorry guys, was meant in jest, following the discussion we were having, surrounding the All-stars, previous page. Apologies Clinton, may have needed the blue font - BTW I appreciate your graphs, hope you can keep them coming! :) Edit: Woah City have really gained again, recent times! Tambo wrote:paulc wrote:Roar is well due for an update. Anyone? Literally just tweeted them about 10 minutes ago.... will post if i get a response. TBH I'm not so sure they are? Wasn't that 9k update relatively recent - especially compared to others? (Like *cough* Glory, AU and Phoenix :p *cough*) We can be sure that once Roar crack the 10k milestone, a first for the club, that they will surely and quite rightly, make some kind of song and dance about it, I'm sure and so they should! =d> TheRealFootballSupporter wrote:Phoenix are really letting down the competition if they are still at 1000, but i doubt they are. This is where we shouldn't fret too much over published numbers. It's deceptive - because the disparity in updates still makes it hard to properly measure these things. So many clubs have actual tickers or more frequent updates - it's quite pleasing. But there's still than minority where the drip feed can seem all-but nil at times and Phoenix are the worst culprit this season. One can kind of understand it, the low base, perhaps slower growth than last season (Who wants to announce, when you've only increased by dozens over weeks)? But same time, the buzz around the EPL visitors (And that West Ham victory), an ever improving Phoenix team - improved under Merrick last season and looking even stronger this season. They have alot to build upon and surely they have seen some positive gains, due to these things, the last month or so? Let's just presume they're around 1.8/2k as Deluka estimated. We can't really judge Phoenix, AU and Glory more fairly, till we get more recent updates. Edited by GloryPerth: 13/8/2014 06:25:31 PM

Made some more good ground overnight. Another 750 members and that doesn't include increases from 5 clubs that haven't updated us. So all in all we're probably tracking at about just over 1000 a day which is very good news. At this rate we should add another 55k by season start.
Even if this rate drops and we get another 40k by kick off, that will still mean we will be about 20k in front of last year at the beginning of the season. i believe the figure back then was 84k which ultimately went up to 94k after 8 rounds in.

City up to 6693. Travelling very nicely since their FFA cup match, even though they didn't get the result.

With 2 months to go, some of these results are very impressive.
Some may well see a substantial slowdown in the next month, but with pre-season/ FFA Cup in full swing, along with a few extra spots for signings at most clubs, there will be some added interest in the media to promote clubs.
If David Villa was to arrive in mid-Sept you would likely see a decent lift in interest for Melb City, but reports I have seen point to an Oct arrival. It leaves less time to maximise that interest and turn it into memberships, however it could be a big boost in the lead up to the new season when he does arrive.

Davo, that 'sounds' a bit too optimistic?! They seem astounding figures and 55k ontop of present, something like 80% of the present total - I think a more conservative/realistic total may be around the 100k or an increase of 30k or so. Which still sounds alot to me, but not an extra-ordinary amount more than present. Infact, I think it's well arguable that most teams are slowing - especially as the bigger clubs near their targets or previous member totals? We've seen more of the renewal periods just recently ending and that sees growth slow, with the pre-existing core already signed up etc... I know alot of people expect a 'second wave' come late September/league lead up or what not, but I'm just not so sure on that. Wanderers are ever closer to their max of 16k... Roar, as Roar_Brisbane and others have suggested, may already have peaked so to speak and they getting any more than a couple thousand more seems a bit optimistic. SFC seem to be 'meeting' their prior record, but anything more than 2-3k more for me seems less likely too? And Melbourne City are still a big variable - I'm sensing that they could 'max out' around 8-9k-ish, if the momentum runs out of steam a bit? Victory are a big factor too and people wonder if they can indeed push to 20k, let alone 23k - how far the league grows may be depending how far Victory grows, towards their goal? Jets too - they still do well, but even meeting their previous records - still seems a challenge? What I mean is, alot of the growth, like with Roar, AU and co, may well already have largely happened? :-k Hope I'm wrong though. Though my conservative estimates do put the league more in line with Gallop and co's predictions/target of 110k (IIRC?) members or so? :-k Edited by GloryPerth: 14/8/2014 11:22:33 PM

I'm calling it now - 95-100k by A-League kick-off, not much more, not much less. Most clubs to be peaked or have met their targets, by then. The last bit of 10k growth will be flexi-packs and late band-waggoner's for a Villa-hyped City etc..

Edited by GloryPerth: 14/8/2014 11:38:39 PM That would represent a 15% growth on what was a big jump already last season. I am also expecting around 95k for round 1.

I've noticed on the Roar site that a poll attended by a few hundred suggests that MC will be by far the largest crowd puller in Brisbane with a vote of 70%. Sydney FC will be dethroned but stand a far second.

My guess is they are going to wait until they hit the magical 5 figures before making an announcement. I reckon they have it in them to get to 12k by the start of the season. Mind blank, can anyone tell me if Brisbane has an Aussie marquee on their books?
