It's just soo pleasing to see those two clubs starting to fulfil their potential/their market's potential. Now if only Glory could do the same. A number of the clubs, big and small, are getting much nearer to their targets or potential threshold limits, so to speak? There isn't that much more room left, for growth - though again we're aren't sure just when City's growth will pull up, but I still suspect the speculated impact of Villa's arrival, stint, may be somewhat over-stated. Guess we can only tell once he arrives and try to measure what affect that actually has on the numbers. AU, Roar, Mariners, Jets, Glory, Phoenix and Wanderers are all near their peak and we shouldn't expect to see any more than additional thousand on each of their figures. In terms of actual limits, the only club that can stake a claim to limits is WSW. All other clubs should be able to grow to fill their stadium. But i see where you're coming from, clubs that have already had massive growth are probably not going to grow much further this season. Brisbane are certainly one club, and I would imagine City are another. I would possibly also put Adelaide and FC in that group too.

Well we can now make Adelaide's growth based from this time last year as +50%. Wow! in terms of growth terms, could they beat Melb City?
I believe Adelaide's tally by the end of last season was 6,415 and by start of the season was 5,751!
So they have already beaten the start of season tally and will probably beat the end of season tally, before we even reach round 1. Fantastic!
This definitely puts Adelaide in the most improved category. Let's not forget that like Brisbane, they are achieving this with real organic growth. Neither team has used high profile marquee players as a way to lure in more members.
Great to see big city teams are starting to make some headway. If Adelaide continues to grow during the next few seasons, I wouldn't be surprised if the FFA decides to add another Adelaide team. Would create a fantastic rivalry and would benefit football in SA. Same deal applies with Brisbane.

Wow, just wow. I always thought you'd had to be dome to follow a team called Heart but surely not this dumb... You're right, how dare i compare a club thats using every advantage (at no extra cost to them) to try and win the league to one literally trying to buy fans. And i think you meant to spell dumb, not dome ;) Edited by tbitm: 10/9/2014 01:25:00 PM

4,222... reflection of the dismal unpopularity of the Perth Glory in WA.
On the positive (going against the 442 forums rule book here)... reflection of diehard footy fans crying out to have a good club in WA. These poor 4,222 bastards have had to put up with steaming pile of turd for 10 years. Something needs to be done a la Sporting Kansas City.

I can still see growth in AU, Roar, SFC, MV & Heart ... the others will as well they will be the big movers... Roar & SFC in particular could add quite a few more ... seems Arnold is making all the rights moves at the Flying Circus ..

Saw a tweet from CCM saying that they are over 4,100 and says ffa haven't updated.... I wonder whether this is accurate.... Or they are claiming petty memberships in their total and FFA refused to do so. Guess we will have to see on ffa's next update. Overall though. Great news for clubs which rarely updated. 100k by round 1 is back on haha!

Article states a current growth of 13% on last years total to date. At 83,337 currently, 73,750 is implied as that figure. So we are still 10k ahead of last year.... Pretty good reading .
Edit: this forum last year had 67,500 as the total at 10/9/13 with no numbers for Perth.

Mr united 442 wrote:aufc at 6038 members now great effort Indeed, it's interesting also to finally see how some of the ('Relatively') smaller clubs are tracking. Helps clarify where many clubs are actually at now. Interesting to see how much Roar have slowed - hopefully they can crawl to 10k BEFORE relying on the 'Lite Memberships' etc... though the limited game packs will definitely tip them over! Davo1985 wrote:Well we can now make Adelaide's growth based from this time last year as +50%. Wow! in terms of growth terms, could they beat Melb City?

Edited by Davo1985: 10/9/2014 11:50:09 AM I wouldn't go that far - I see it as AU more growing into their market more and even re-growing back to levels they were at a little earlier (Apparently they had 8k members a few seasons ago, that included Flexi's/Limited members)? If even their member numbers weren't quite so high, their crowd base (Core support) certainly was! The organic growth certainly is promising, especially to see these member numbers BEFORE the limited game packs have been released. AFAIK Those packs are now released or have been available for a few clubs, for a little while now? Certainly for Glory - They have had the Deep Purple and new 5-Game Flexi packs available for a while now. Roar though have/had yet to release their 'Lite Membership' packs and the like, though the demand for them seems quite high - so expect a second mini-wave, once that barricade is lowered. :p PG and AU would need their stadiums bursting at the seams and memberships at 12k+ to be in a scenario where their cities might be ready for a second team. Clearly Roar are more entering this stage and the 'larger' Brisbane will be ready for a second team in that SW corridor/Ipswich area, as soon as next expansion window, I truly believe. Hopefully Roar's crowds will be averaging closer to 17k this season (So matching their S2/S3 Average, circa Bleiberg/Farina era), so crowd growth on the back of membership growth! AU could potentially one day = a Wanderers-like scenario with their memberships to stadium capacity (Hindmarsh only 16-17k) - Re: Scarcity! Tambo wrote:Article states a current growth of 13% on last years total to date. At 83,337 currently, 73,750 is implied as that figure. So we are still 10k ahead of last year.... Pretty good reading .

Edited by Tambo: 10/9/2014 11:41:36 PM The safe bet with Perth is, just factor in, or 'presume' 5k every time. Usually that's accurate, around the mark and Glory are once again heading to around or just exceeding that mark, once again. Glory may not be reliable in updating, but it's become somewhat predictable now, as to the approximate size of their member base, going by the past few seasons. And unless they undertake some big campaign to strive for some new, slightly ambitious, member target, ala some of their A-League rivals, then I doubt it will change much. And huzzah, as to your figures above, indeed Glory is that approximately 5k differential your totals! ;) Edited by GloryPerth: 11/9/2014 02:49:16 AM

Most updated tally above.
Good to see the ffa are finally providing an updated weekly tally, at least so we can have numbers for clubs that never seem to disclose figures to fans directly on their membership page.
Under 3k to go before we reach last years figure. i assume that target should be reached in about 10 days time. Shame we will probably not reach it sooner, but we are maxed out for WSW and i believe there is lil room for growth for Brisbane, FC and even City. Victory are the only ones that i can see make some serious headway still, potentially adding another 3 or 4k. I strongly doubt they will really get many more than last year.

Prediction of members by round 1:
Adelaide: 6.8k Brisbane: 10.5k Ccm: 4.7k City: 8.8k Victory: 19.8k Jets: 8.3k Perth: 5k Syd: 10.7k Wel: 3.4k Wsw: 16k
= 94k at round 1. 8k growth on last season (just under 10%)
And I genuinely believe these predictions to be on the conservative side....
