And I genuinely believe these predictions to be on the conservative side.... Don't see us getting into the late 8,000's at round 1 tbh Think we will get 8.3-5 Yeah look... I'm expecting another 500 in the next 2-3 weeks and then hopefully if villa arrives that will surely spur on another few hundred along with the few hundred which would have signed up anyway naturally. So if villa arrives late as fearfully rumored I would imagine low 8's but if villa arrives id expect high 8's

Does anyone know what is happening with the northern terrace in melbourne? Remember reading an article saying it was getting resolved but haven't heard anything since. If this is yet to be resolved but is imminent then that would surely spur on a big jump.
Should also be noted that victory added on more than 2,500 members from a similar position at the same point in time last season to have 20.5k before round 1.

Either the Villa effect or the end of AFL season boost kicks in in the brief period before Rd 1, or daily growth numbers will likely stay fairly steady as the current figures are experiencing. I just get the feeling many are awaiting success to commit to the club. Without it, it will be a struggle.

Good man Clinton.
I honestly think they will get minimum 30 a day for the next 2 weeks. Meaning 8k 2 weeks out , and then with the season starting, marketing into gear, villa arriving plus the bare minimum 30 a day. 9k looks very likely if not definitely.

Interesting City discussion guys - Heart_fan I think you are being understandably conservative, but fact is your club is already within 500 of the 8k mark anyway! So you guys will certainly hit 8k before Round 1 - but how much more beyond that, the guys speculate above. 9K would be fantastic!
Gee City fans, so many eyes on your club this coming season - makes for a change - you guys must be loving it? :) This is what I look forward to in the league - SFC and Victory normally and understandably, draw alot of the attention, most of the time. So it's great/refreshing to see 'third way' parties coming to the fore to challenge the status quo, duopoly. Roar have also done so, last few seasons and we all hope they keep on, keeping on - their great increase in supporter numbers reflect the great impact, in real terms, their sustained level of success and entertaining football, has had! Hopefully Heart can build some attractive football and even some success, for themselves too.
Clinton delivers again!
BTW Davo1985's latest update has just provided a reminder - My word, the member total is now within 10k of reaching the membership total achieved by April of last season - all with several weeks to go from kick off. Hopefully we can get close to last season's total, by Round 1 (Or reach 90k, atleast)! :o As discussed, Victory to hopefully take up half that slack, maybe a second wind for City and SFC - we're all hoping - Roar a second wind via their Lite Memberships etc... The other clubs adding hundreds more. That's the additional collective 10k, right there.

BTW You know, with the A-League's now pronounced, 110k members goal - that naturally delegates some responsibility or a challenge, to each respective club. We've done the break-downs before, but the latest announcement, with new, updated weekly, figures - does this provoke a re-investigation into what each club needs to achieve, their end, in order to reach that collective target?
IIRC The 110k just equals the goals or targets aka club records each club seeks to achieve?
Adelaide: 10k Brisbane: 12k Ccm: 6k City: 10k Victory: 23k Jets: 10k Perth: 6.5k Syd: 12k Wel: 4k Wsw: 16.5k
= 110k?
It's a realistic, if slight ambitious target. TBH, I think the A-League will certainly pip past 100k, but reaching 110k seems a stretch? :-k

Brisbane should gain around 1.5-2k when their lite and global memberships are released.

I wonder whether we will hit another 10k by round 1. The only way it will happen is if we get a real spurt from Victory, Brisbane (Lite memberships) and possibly City and FC. Without them getting another 1k or 2k each, it's looking very unlikely.

I think that that is optimistic for the next fortnight but if we can be sitting around 90k 2 weeks out then we need 700 a day. I wouldn't underestimate the growth once the other codes finish, marketing ramps up, villa arrives etc. I think we will get there but we'll see.

I wonder if sydney fc will see a nice membership boost following their FFA cup game against united.
Also, potentially Brisbane roar after today's free double header... Including that against Brisbane city may get a few locals down who haven't been to a Brisbane game before etc.

Edited by GloryPerth: 12/9/2014 12:56:09 AM I think 110k is a possibility but only come January. We'll be lucky to reach 100k before the season starts, but that's ok (remember, we didn't even reach 100k by January for last season, so our membership sales are well ahead). I don't see AUFC making more than 7.5k members this season, which in itself would be a huge success in my opinion. No doubt the club will be aiming for 10k within the next couple of years; any membership based in excess of 11-12k will certainly state our case for a capacity upgrade for Hindmarsh. As for Brisbane, City and Sydney, I can see them achieving 15k within the next couple of years. In fact, if they achieve success over the next two years, I see no reason why either City or Sydney couldn't push for 20k members, especially if City make more high profile signings. Brisbane have already witnessed growth from maximised success so I expect their growth rate to stabilise from beyond this season.

But this is the thing Tom, trying to figure out just 'how' the 110k will be achieved, via the club breakdowns. I presume the FFA worked out the 110k goal, via most of the clubs' own member targets or club records. For instance my having AU as 10k is not what I believe they can achieve, but the goal they themselves set, last season. Agreed that 7.5-8k would both equal great and realistic.
If we again look at the break-downs of 110k, as atleast I tried to figure it (From vague memory of each respective club's targets or club records) - we certainly see some are achievable, realistic, while others a bit beyond reach?
Roar we have no idea their 'internal target', seeings they are already set to reach they own/previous target of 10k. SFC too, hit a club record high last season, so just meeting/exceeding that would be their goal too.
And sadly, I don't think relative weaklings like Glory and Phoenix are even capable of reaching the marks I set (4k was Phoenix's goal, last season - they came up 500 or so short). Most of the other marks are quite realistic and achievable - that's why I think the A-League will reach 100k but may not reach quite as far as 110k?
Then again, if City grow beyond even 10k members (Via limited packs), then I guess anything is possible?!

An extra 10k is equal to 1k per club. City, Adelaide, Brisbane and possibly Victory will all post larger totals than last season. We'll see. Perhaps if City take off successfully with good showings from the likes of Villa, they might pick up a couple of thousand extra members. If they achieve more than 10k by the end of the season, I'll be very impressed.

Ive just noticed that Brisbane Roar have Seat selection on their website, I wish more clubs have this, there is nothing worse than spending half hour on the phone trying to choose seats while the person on the other end has no idea.
Would be ideal for the grandstand at hindmarsh.

Melb City 7572
Let's hope Villa arrives early enough in October to get some degree of Match Fitness or he will take a few games and perhaps a debut sub appearance to get into gear or else he risks an early injury.
