I don't think 25 minutes good performance is enough to claim that you should have won.

Seconded. We missed about 100 chances in the first half, were denied a stonewall pen. Arsenal had a few chances but no more than that. They had a lot of ball but didn't do much with it. I think a draw was fair enough.

First half
Arsenal - 7 shots 3 on target
Liverpool 6 shots 3 on target 1 goal

Second half
Arsenal - 12 shots 3 on target 2 goals
Liverpool - 7 shots 2 on target 1 goal

That seems to suggest we had just as many chances as you in the first half and many more in the 2nd half.

Also what was this 'stonewall pen' you were apparently denied?

Stats would suggest we were the better the side but if we're gonna concede goals like that then we don't deserve to win.

Really, that's this stonewall pen :lol: it has to be deliberate handball for it to be a penalty. Would have been pretty hard to call that handball deliberate.

Frankly, the match didn't. Liverpool were excellent in the first half, we were mediocre until we found the net and then frankly I thought we suffered again for another ten minutes before the match was blown open.

We can't claim to deserve to win the match and I suppose a point is decent considering we were 2-0 down against Liverpool. There are two opinions: Liverpool are on the same level as us and therefore this is a good result or we are better than Liverpool and should be expecting a win against them. It's up to you, I fall in the former these days.

At an Arsenal level, if we don't improve we'll find Liverpool overtaking us in the league. Can't hope for a new signing any more :lol:

I don't think we deserved to win. On the balance of it a draw is a fair result, because like Gooner said you don't deserve to win conceding goals like that. Just disappointed, because we really should've won it in that 2nd half.

:lol: clutching to the stat sheet. All I used stats for was in responding to Imno's claim that Liverpool had tonnes of chances in the first half and we only had a few but no more than that, when in actual fact we had about the same number of chances in the first half.

I mean if I wanted to go on about stats I could say that we comprehensively passed you off the park and had more than triple the number of passes in the attacking third. Now, that would be clutching to the stat sheet.

Fair enough imno's quote was a bit OTT and I suppose needed balancing but its your earlier post or 2 be it here or in our thread between the lines gives the feeling your entitled to win - your squad is not as it once was this season cro even with all that possession hello you were at home. In saying that you passed us off the park and had more than triple the amount in our last 1/3 damn our defense stood up ;)

Just get off your high horse at times for there is 4 clubs (though we are very long shots) vying for that last spot where in the past you had but very vulnarable this season.

:lol: I'm not on any high horse. I have never said we were entitled to or deserved to win, simply that, with the chances we had in the 2nd half we should have won.

Liverpool will be wondering how they fell apart in the space of three minutes and didn't end up getting all three points especially considering Liverpool dominated large swathes of the game.

ML is right, we're at home we should be doing better. I think Liverpool shouldn't have sat back and should've kept pressing the advantage perhaps something Rodgers will have to consider. Our squad isn't what it was though but hey, at least we've got some nachos for Friday mornings.
