On the 9 News today was confirmation that Pirtek will be upgraded to 25k work staring within the next phew months. 25k capacity, starting work within the next phew months. Federal Sport Minister Peter Dutton and NSW Sport and Recreation Minister Stuart Ayres today announced the finalised scope for a $29 million upgrade to Parramatta’s Pirtek Stadium. After consultation and agreement with the two major hirers of the Stadium, the Parramatta Eels and the Western Sydney Wanderers, the tenders have gone out for the first package of works. Construction is expected to commence on the Stadium in mid-October. The upgrade includes: · Rebuilding the players changerooms to contemporary international standards · An additional 2,000 seats behind the existing terraces at the north and south ends (4,000 in total) · A seating upgrade and replacement throughout the Stadium · Wi-fi connectivity · Replacement of the turf surface · Installation of LED screens and signage NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation Stuart Ayres said the Stadium upgrade has been a long time coming for western Sydney. "With an extra 2,000 seats added to each end of the ground, so 4,000 in total, the fans will be closer to the action than ever before,” Mr Ayres said. "We have upgraded the big screens and improved the amenity of the ground. "These improvements will breathe new life into one of western Sydney's key sporting precincts,” Mr Ayres said. Federal Minister for Sport Peter Dutton said the upgrade will significantly enhance the fans’ game day experiences at Pirtek Stadium. “It will provide great benefits to sports fans and local sporting teams with services and amenities revamped for both spectators and players. This is great boost to western Sydney’s sports facilities,” Mr Dutton said. Federal Member for Reid, Craig Laundy MP, said that the stadium upgrade will ensure that western Sydney remains home to some of Australia’s finest sporting franchises. “Western Sydney has a rich and proud sporting history, and this announcement means that two leading franchises in this region, the Parramatta Eels and the Western Sydney Wanderers, will now have the best possible platform to excel into the future.” State Member for Parramatta Geoff Lee said the upgrade will be welcomed by all in Parramatta. “This is great news for Parramatta, the Stadium and the thousands of fans who support the Eels and the Wanderers,” Mr Lee said. The potential impact of the project on the hirers has been discussed with procedures in place from all parties to ensure the Stadium is operational during the project works. This is a $29 million project - $20 million from the Commonwealth Government, $6 million from Venues NSW and $3 million to come from Parramatta City Council. http://www.parramattasun.com.au/story/2590581/pirtek-stadium-29m-upgrade-on-the-way/?cs=1497Yeah baby Melbourne Victory your days are numbered....\:d/ \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ Edited by multibet: 29/9/2014 11:29:02 PM

Quote:I have been selected in the Young Socceroos squad and will be leaving tomorrow to join my team mates for the AFC u/19 Championship in Myanmar. I am always very proud to represent Australia, but Adelaide United is always close to my heart. Before I leave, I wanted to come past the office to see how many members have joined us. The Club has told me we have over 6,300 members, and are currently closing in on last season’s membership total of 6,500! Thank you for joining up as a member of the Adelaide United Football Club. It’s great to see so many members have joined.
I want to help the Club grow its memberships, but I need your help. I need you to ask your friends and family to join us and become a member of the club. In return, I will be giving one of you a very special prize. The club will announce more details in the next few days, but I wanted to write you this email before I leave.
Thanks again for joining the Club. I will be keeping track of our memberships while I am away, and look forward to playing in front of all the members when I come back in October.

You folk bashing CCM - They hit a record high, exceeding their member target, last season (5k goal, they got 5.9k) - they're on-track to exceed 5k again in by far the smallest market in the league (300k or so, immediate CC catchment). Their pushing 6k members is actually quite good and if they do any better than that, coming seasons, then that's stellar. And puts the likes of Glory to shame! MCMH wrote:Wellington CCM and Perth need to lift A-League.com.au will be due to update their weekly tally tomorrow or Thursday latest. Both clubs will likely increase by another hundred, going by their recent growth trajectories. FTR We will also see what Schultzy referenced from Awe Mabil's member mail. Lastbroadcast wrote:GloryPerth wrote:Ok guys, update with new tally - seems they did indeed update it a day late and interestingly, with no associated press release/article on it. Here it is, one from today furtherest down: They're probably waiting until they kit 90k memberships before they make the announcement. They're about 1500 short of that number right now. [/quote] Interesting - you must be right and indeed no need for them to have a release/item on it, with every update - especially if the week's growth hasn't been that much to write home about recent times. But that may change again soon, with season dawning. Tomorrow's update will surely take it past 90k. Edited by GloryPerth: 1/10/2014 12:38:10 AM

Great work the Jets - cannot believe with all the negative talk of the playing roster and Tinkler selling that the membership has stacked up so well.
Cheers

Cheers I have to agree with this statement. The two teams that have shocked me the most are the Jets and Sydney FC. Was expecting both of them to go backwards this year. The feeling around FC at the moment is super positive which no doubt has resulted in the membership numbers we have achieved. However we were coming off from a bad season with a shit coach, and we have also lost ADP who was no doubt a crowd and media puller. So I am very surprised we have hit 10k already and possibly going to break the record 3 years in a row! Edited by Davo1985: 1/10/2014 05:45:39 PM

SFC and Melb City are trading on optimism this pre-season, with fans hoping that this year will have a more positive outcome.

Cheers Newcastle's membership prices stack up very well against, for example Perth Glory: Gold Membership Adult - $260 v $432 Gold Membership Family (2 adult 2 juniors) - $630 v $927 Have to think that impacts on both Jets good membership numbers and Glory's poor ones.

Agree 100%.... A way to grow the membership base is extremely cheap prices.... You would rather be stubborn and have 10,000 empty seats, or be cheap and basically hand out memberships.. Should be done at my club, could get 20% more members in an instant....

If you have a look at the last few years the Jets are actually showing a fairly significant decline in memberships. Easy to explain given the dreadful performances for essentially 6 consecutive seasons.
