"He bites who he wants He bites who he waaaaaaants Luis Suarez He bites who he wants"
At Man U-Chelsea.
Probably the only Liverpool player to be sung about today

Vital vital goal against Stoke. Terrific second half performance to get a point from one down with a man sent-off. Makes for a nervous last two games with the bottom being tight as it gets...
Possible that Stoke, Fulham or Villa could get pulled back into it, but realistically it's one from five:
Southampton 39 -11 Sunderland 39 -12 Norwich 38 -22 Newcastle 38 -23 Wigan 35 -22
Wigan have a game in hand, they play Swansea tonight. If they win it's goal difference separating 4 clubs!

What an epic relegation battle. By using the BBC's ladder predictor, I've actually predicted that Norwich will go down on GD.
Huuuuuge point for Sunderland this morning. Next 2 games will be tough without their 3 top scorers. Will get a point vs Soton I reckon and that could be enough for them to stay up.

Edited by MidfieldMaestro: 7/5/2013 09:50:45 AM At half time - 1 down, 10 men, players bickering with each other, no creativity, no passion, etc., I thought we were gone. Would love to know what Di Canio said to them in the rooms. MUST win against Southampton to steady my nerves. Can't go through the last week relying on others to lose because we won't get anything at Spurs. Edited by Benjamin: 7/5/2013 11:12:52 AM

My nerves are pretty shot too mate. After the 2-0 win at Reading, I didn't expect it would go down to the wire for the Saints. I recall the commentator saying "Southampton heading to safety" after the 2nd goal.....and I think we all bought it.
After reading an epic thread on saintsweb containing all the combinations and permutations from a Southampton point of view, a point could well be enough at the Stadium of Light.
Re: Di Canio. I said soon after his appointment that if nothing, he'd be a great motivator and know how to get the best from his players by getting them to play with passion and play for the shirt. Looks like that's what happened for the 2nd half of this morning's match.

More so in favour for you guys that Michu is out for the rest of the season with hammy tear. Amazing that the Swans in 9th to wigan in 18th is only 8points diff when I checked. They are line ball in GA's but wigans GA is 20 more. Going to be another big game for Martinez but I feel Laudrup will gain the upper hand.

Swansea come from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at Wigan - settles my nerves a little.
Just need to beat Southampton at the weekend and we're pretty much safe for another year (barring a Brazilian style final result of the season for Wigan).

Can't see Wigan staying up anymore, which is a shame really.
Meanwhile Leicester and Wood have one foot in the playoff final after winning 1-0. Keep that win, I want another Kiwi in the Prem League.

Damnit, damn stupid high boot, what was he thinking?! NOTHING! That's what.
Sheesh. Whole game turned. Villa deserved a result, and moment of naive foolishness and all thrown away.
He might have had a great season etc but he should be discipline for this. Villa still in trouble.
Villa still lack some of that quality too - after it became 10v10 some of the midfield passing and tempo. Sylla despite some better play pre-send off, lost the ball due to concentration issues most part.
And bit later on, Chelsea got into it and got chances due to some composure lost for Villa and conceding possession a bit too often in their own final third. Possession count likely dropped alot too. I know they were deeper, but they had periods where they were still promising, but as always with sides that lack class in the final third, it just kept breaking down and then Chelsea countered through the pace of Hazard.

Holy shit the playoff finish!!!!!
5th minute of injury time, Leicester get a penalty. They miss, Watford run the field and score. 3-1 in the 7th minute of injury time, Watford up 3-2 on aggregate
And it's done, Watford progress thanks to their 90+7 min goal 3-2 on aggregate
