Couldn't agree more. Hardly a level playing field.

Not wanting to be social is 'asocial' Fuck off, I don't want to talk to you either. :D

I think what EG is trying to say is that we are all aware that this shit goes on but why continue to perpetuate this weak mentality. Maybe we should be focusing on improving our imagine. What that looks like, I don't know. But surely being stroppy over a few shitty articles does help us...

The ultimate buzzword that really means nothing. It actually does mean something, but that's not the point. My point is to not worry about or compare football fans' behaviour to those of other codes as a means of justification of the behaviour or the feeling of being hard done by. So being constantly lambasted in the media for doing much less is not justification for feeling hard done by. And you still haven't told me what "anti-social behavior" constitutes. I'm not saying there's no reason to feel hard done by, just that there's no point or value in getting too worked up about. So it really has no meaning then?

The crowd was also 'very well behaved' I don't think the negative reporting of football will ever go away. Certain media outlets still try to correlate the ethnic drama in the A-League as some sort of offspring spawn from the NSL days. Theres not much we can do about it, so I think its a matter of just making sure the A-League / Socceroos continue to do well.

About three weeks ago I read a tiny little article tucked away in the courier mail, which reported an elderly couple getting bashed after State of Origin 1 in Brisbane.
The elderly man found someone, who had just attended the game, pissing in his front yard near the stadium. He went out and asked the man to leave his property. He was set upon by more than one person. His wife came out to assist him and she too was struck. Both required medical treatment.
It's interesting. I wonder where this would have gone if it was after the A-League grand final.

This victim mentality is pathetic. We deserved to get smashed by the media for carrying on like small children when shit like this occurs. Get over it and grow up.
Also, we have a rugby league thread.
