Upon further research he's also had his contract terminated by his last 2 clubs (one seemingly mutual).

Yeah I saw a pic of him in a Inter shirt and was like hmmmmm looks interesting, then looked at his record and went meh

Hasn't played since this happened in March last year. He was banned for the rest of the season and his contract was then terminated as a result.

He has played for Inter, Roma and Fiorentina, so surely has some quality.

From wiki I was able to find out that his contract was terminated after a match on 19th March 2013 for fighting some bloke.

He's played for some pretty good clubs, sounds like he may have a bit of a temper. I guess we'll see soon enough though. Still I agree that a year without football isn't ideal

Good investigating guys - Well, going by that footage... T3X8 and others I don't think it's as simple as 'Other than that'...

It may be 'in the past' but such highly unprofessional, unsporting and transgressing behaviour, which saw a substantive ban - all coming quite recently (his last gig - hence enforced 'lay off'). Could he be a risk too far for the league and it's carefully managed squads and image? Teams and their managers in this A-League are BIG on 'squad harmony' etc... arguably more-so than many places overseas. The FFA and we have more of a conscious focus on the 'role model' and 'family friendly' image and hence, that's inpart why the top domestic league was re-booted as the A-League and other reforms! As too pressure on Active Support etc...

This bloke has ALOT to do to prove this behind him, or he won't even get a look in. Especially not a successful, harmonious squad, like Roar. They aren't desperate enough to stoop to a known risk. They could well do without it, infact. And arguably Roar could find just as a good a VISA quality, elsewhere, who aren't such risks. He seems a quality player, quality pedigree - but as often emphasised in the A-League, we have a professional image and reputation to uphold in this very competitive marketplace.

Heck, if even a relatively dodgy, relatively empty stands, Qatar league ban him for 12 months with no teams giving him another look in post-ban, then that's a bad sign? Though Australia could be a good fresh start, clubs like Roar aren't naive chumps either.

Don't need that in the league, but hey he kinda had a good reason to do what he did, though he should have done what every other well trained aspiring thespian does and go down like a sack of potatoes, instead he took it on the side of the face, waited 20 odd seconds and retaliated.

I'd be surprised if a club like Roar and coach like Mulvey would even consider this guy, given this. If any A-League club were to risk it, it may be perhaps a Jets - given they have taken risks on players like Jardel and co before? But that was Con Constantine and early A-League era. Things are even more professional now and the standard of recruiting much better. Far less recruiting reliant on highlight clips and agent hype.

And his reaction was not justified at all. Sure, Nene swiped him over the head (though he had it coming in a way, with his aggressive, provocative, shepherding), but nothing justifies his behaviour - an experienced professional too. And a blind sided sucker punch like that?!

Anyway, in trying to to remember incidents here, thought of Webster's ridiculous lash out on Harnwell - he was rightly out of the club and soon A-League, like a shot.

I thought that Roar had used all their visa spots. Broich, Mensur, Henrique, Miller and Solo.

When is that expected to happen though? Would think there is some sort of cut off date for registering players, and I have no idea how long it can take to get citizenship. Last question, would they be counted as Aussies for the ACL?
