The father-in-law has an obsession with artworks. His house he has basically turned into a gallery. A great viewing every time you walk through the house. I haven't done too much myself in terms of fine art but I went on a cruise last year and the mrs talked herself into buying an artwork from the auction they had on the boat. It was by Yuval Wolfson and is called Red Peacock (although until we heard the name of it, we thought it was an exploding champagne glass). It now hangs in our loungeroom and is really cool. On said cruise ship, I developed a pretty big interest in some of the stuff of Yaacov Agam - basically works in these 3D pattern type things. They were really cool, but way out of my price range  Also one day I'd love to get my hands on a Peter Max Umbrella Man. And on the cruise there was this guy (name escapes me) who made animal sculptures out of bronze and they were insanely, insanely cool. Some lady who looked like a crazy cat woman bought about 3 of them  Edited by pv4: 9/9/2014 06:36:39 AM

The painting "Palace Stairs" by Italian artist Francesco Guardi was removed from the National Museum in Warsaw in 1939 shortly after Germany invaded Poland and was chosen to be part of Adolf Hitler's personal collection. The small image features several noblemen conversing at the bottom of the stairs of Venice's Doge Palace. Returned to Poland in the 1990's. Edited by Joffa: 9/9/2014 06:08:25 PM
