I remember this one hairdresser I used to go to , brushed her big jugs against my head quite often as she was cutting my hair then as we started talking I told her I was in my 30s then she was startled and said "oh I thought you were much younger than that"...needless to say all that big jug action stopped after that.:(

It's always funny getting your first cut from a heterosexual male hairdressser.

Like air stewards everyone naturally assumes he's gay, so they might throw a few things into the convo to make it clear that they prefer the intimate company of women.

Some even get that awkward moment out of the way before introducing themselves.

The scenario you have provided is quite a common issue I have dealt with in the past.

There are many variables as to why you may think a male could be more consistent that a female hairdresser, but the main issues are due to sexual tension and hormones.

Here are some suggestions for you depending on which type of hairdresser you are seeing:

Female Hairdresser:
Try to your best to be as non seductive as possible. Wear some Brut aftershave, sprinkle some coconut on your hair and shoulders to represent dandruff and possibly talk about your love of Dungeons and Dragons . Alternatively, Wear some fashionable clothing and talk with a lisp and discuss your boy problems. Any sexual tension between her and yourself will be erased and you will enjoy the benefits of a stylish haircut.

Male Hairdressor (Straight) or Lesbian:
No problems here. Wear whatever you want, talk about whatever you want. There will be no sexual tension thus resulting in a quality haircut.

Male Hairdressor (Homosexual):
This can be quite an awkward one to overcome. On one hand, you will more than likely receive the best haircut of your life but on the other hand, you may experience an "excited" hairdresser pressing himself up against you whist you are imprisoned in your seat. I say, sit back and enjoy the ride.

One time I got my hair cut in town somewhere and there was this incredibly fit girl who did it. She gave me one of those wash+scalp massages, and I won't lie in telling everyone that I got a semi from it, it was that good (plus she had bewbs in my face). So the thought of you getting a scalp massage from a gay hairdresser guy doesn't sit overly well with me personally :lol:

I usually just take to my own hair with clippers nowadays. Unless I have an event or something and just go to whichever local hairdresser has an appointment that suits me available, and get a style cut. My local place I've gone to throughout most of my childhood charges mens cuts by their age - so a 7 year old gets charged $7 and a 25 year old gets charged $25 :lol: although I'm fairly sure they cap it at $25.

Men generally lean towards productive careers where the output of their work is the outcome (engineers, trades etc.), where women generally tend to lean towards social careers where they interact with people (HR, nursing, teaching etc.).

It's logical to extrapolate that when a woman is cutting your hair, it's the socialising that takes precedence.

I think $25 is the going rate of haircuts these days.

Ive seen in the CBD haircuts price at $10, but they tend to be old barbers that look like they are from the Balkans and maybe don't realise they are undercharging.:lol:

My old hairdresser was a total babe, so i didn't care if she fucked up my hair. But she didn't do any worse a job than the men that have cut my hair.

I cut my own hair now. I figured hairdressers are like prostitutes, why am I paying for something i can do myself?

Ive had both Barbers and Hairdressers cut my hair. I find that hairdressers (women) are less consistent than men (barbers) and tend to be more erratic in the way my hair turns out each time I go for a snip. I guess with Barbers though (Old fashioned guys) tend to be a bit behind the times when you request a style which is a bit more modern whereas hairdressers are up to date with the trends.

I went for a haircut today and normally the hairdresser I use is pretty good, but she seemed really moody and gave me a bad haircut today. A bit a hit and miss.
