Got Pompey to the championship so I signed Marvin Plattenhardt from Hertha BSC. He can be a beast in some games, bagged a brace against Leeds and got two assists against Peterborough.

Definitely an improvement on Corey Brown :lol:

Haven't been on much this last week - but managed to get myself knocked out of the league cup in the semis, won an FA cup game, through the Euro league, have gone top of the league and... Signed Isco and Neymar on Bosman's, so next season could be interesting.

EDIT - runners up in FA Cup and league (lost 2, drew 2, of last 7 league games), won the Euro League, semi-finals of league cup. Yann Benedick and Yussuf Poulsen each scoring over 30 goals in all comps.

Ok 15th and Final season now done. :d Think I'll make several posts instead of one very long one.

The one thing that I really wanted to achieve was to win the ECL with Wigan but unfortunately I lost to Barca on away goals in the Semi Final. :(

I ended up playing Fiorentina in the Quarters and I have to say that would be the two toughest matches I've ever played.

But other than that it was a very successful season. 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Community shield, won the FA Cup & Capital One Cup & the League by 10 points.

I regret not going out and signing a CAM in his prime, my 3 main guys were in their mid thirties and struggled to complete 90 minutes. Playing a match every 3 to 4 days was also very tough but I had some good depth. I was very impressed with my new signing Werner, Drmic was a great back up as well.

Fiorentina watch: I knocked them out in the ECL in the quarters but they won there league by 15 points. :shock:

Saint-Etienne watch: Finished 4th in their league but lost the Europa Final to Marseille 1-0.

Dortmund watch: Finished 3rd and knocked out in the ECL R16. (I think they need another rebuild tbh).

Real Madrid watch: Finished 2nd just behind Atletico also knocked out in the R16 of the ECL.

I'll say I'm pretty disappointed with the way it ended. Just two very basic emails and once you hit advance you're booted from career mode and once you load it up again you are taken back to your last save point. Very little sense of accomplishment and I would suggest that its not worth going up to the final season.

Here are the two emails btw, I would say the titles/trophies and club record isn't correct as the game doesn't recognize my first season plus the changing of clubs mid-season also had issues. I would say I probably played 85% to 90% of games and simmed the rest - mainly when I'd break 9 or so points clear in the league and try and save myself a little time. But hey the game kept me honest as the majoriety of games I simmed I lost, so my stats would be a tad better than that. :lol:

Ive never made it through the whole 15 seasons so it is interesting to see what it looks like. Gonna aim to do it with leeds when 16 comes out. Try and stick it out for the whole 15 seasons and dominate.

I actually like to remain in the championship in my first season so i can build a few younger recruits up for a push for promotion in the second season. Given our strained budget ive often got to look to the A league for recruits on the cheap. In 15 Osama malik is a beast at CDM, only gets to 71-72 but raraly gives the ball up and wins everything in the air. only costs about 150-200,000 pouns as well with minimal wage of around 1500 pound

Pissweak players leaving the club just before the transfer window closed. Going to Spain. Lastly losing matches in penalty shootouts or on away goals.

Rivalries:

PSG: They had a formidable team in the early years and they would continually knock me out in the ECL, ended up getting the better of them with my time at S-E.

Chelsea: They were always up competing with everything.

Bayern: Some tough ECL games.

Wolfsburg: They were always a very tough side to beat in every comp, desperately wanted to join them but they turned me down, I did end up getting a an offer from them eventually but I was settled where I was.

Liverpool: I continually bought players from them and they always replaced them very well. They actually wanted me as their manager at one stage, I declined and they ended up knocking me out of the ECL. :lol:

Wish the finances were a bit tougher on career mode. I've found it very easy to generate a lot of cash within a couple of years by simply stocking up on the best Bosman's I can grab each January, and selling off the players they are replacing each summer. On the current game I've got Neymar on 200k/week, and a host of others on around 100k/week. I've got my funds at 50/50 - and have 28m in the transfer kitty, plys 450k/week available for wages. My Bosman's this coming January are going to be practically pornographic.

Appears in 16 you are going to be able to use your full compliment of subs in friendly games which will be good

Decided to start another Arsenal career using two strikers in a 3-5-2 for the shits and gigs. I've never used that formation in my life :lol:

Going to use Welbeck and Cavani and bring in Mat Ryan, Matic and Zabaleta at the expense of Szczęsny, Walcott (you're not a striker m80), Wilshere, Gibbs and Mertesacker. Chambers, Zelalem, Bielik and Gnabry are out on loan.

Also Chelsea want to sign Benzema.

finally in the premier league with melbourne city after starting them in league 2.

getting smashed after the transfer period. i sold off everyone to raise some coin to pick up pogba on a free transfer. he wants 210000 thousand pounds for his salary. picked up depay and the defender stone from everton. just got to get it together and win some games now.

aaron mooy up to 77. i picked up luongo 73 for free this year as well but he's not really adding much in the PL. defends a bit better than mooy but gets his pocket picked to often. I still have behich as LB at 74. all my other aussies have come through the youth team.

I made Australia a 5 star team in a fifa 13 save by bringing players up from the youth team. It was sick seeing all them playing for the top teams.

The new training feature levels up players really fast. I've got an 85 rated 19 year old GK :lol:

Just won the Europa league and finished third with Hertha in my second season. Defeated Marseille 2-1, Mathew Leckie was my top goal scorer :lol:

Hertha have some handy players such as Darida (who can score from anywhere). Plattenhardt is a beast as well.

Signed Raphael Varane on Bosman, confirmed in January. End of season get the email to confirm that Raphael Varane has joined the club. Go to my squad to sell off 4th choice central defender and can't see Varane anywhere. Check every other screen, can't find him anywhere. Check transfer market and there he is at Bayern Munich - just signed and not available... I'm like 'WTF', he signed for me, it was confirmed TWICE... Not even a case of me not being able to afford him, have 50 mill in the bank plus 300,000/week wages available.

Hoping I draw Bayern in the Champions Cup now. Want to destroy the French twat!

im about to sign a 32 yr old messi on bosman for 400k because i can. the rest of the team is ok, we are in a europe spot in the epl. alternately i can bring in a much younger sterling and kane for free and still have 200k to blow.

any advice out there?

As for the Bosman, Munich must have signed him before you. Frustrating as hell but happens. Will have been a news story saying he had signed for them.

Did anyone play career mode on FIFA 15 on Xbox 360 where in some leagues every time you play an away game, the ball is invisible?

No - his signing was confirmed in January, and then his arrival was confirmed when the transfer window opened in the summer... He just never appeared in my squad. I checked that arrival confirmation a dozen times.

Killed that career mode for me. Not that I was hanging out for the player, just because it was wrong. Bastard game took the money from my salary budget too!

Have reverted to Ultimate Team for a while now.

In a desperate attempt to make the game more realistic I've banned myself from signing Bosman deals. Squad MUCH thinner after a couple of seasons. Now trying to make it even harder by signing English players whenever possible.

Had one of those 'scripting' moments last night - was playing a lower league side in the cup, having a tough time with all of my attacks being blocked, just waiting to get hit on the break... Never mind, I think, just keep it tight, it's still level... Then the commentators say what a good job the underdogs are doing and how no one would have predicted they would be winning this game but the supporters deserve it - and I get a sinking feeling... Couple of minutes later, long ball, control switches to right back instead of central defender, and by the time I've switched it over my keeper has stood and watched a 30 yard shot loop into the top corner.

Good to see this game killing Bosmans a little by making all players ask for higher wages with every contract renewal. I had Sben Bender on 300k p/w because even at 35 he wanted more money.

As long as Ange picks them our China Roos should be free agents right? Timmy, Spira and Troisi always get signed up on the first day of career mode by someone. Burns is great too.

Continue to think that there should be an additional 'psychotic' setting on the finances - even without Bosmans one can build a very strong team in a couple of seasons in the EPL. In the real world the likes of Sunderland, Leicester, West Brom, etc., will be forever stuck in the world of signing 73-75 level players, with the occasional lucky 78-80. On FIFA, even with the hardest settings, you can pick up 78-80 level players at a rate of 2 per year even without going Bosman.

Just brought Bale back to Spurs in my third season for a fee of 48m plus Andros Townsend (who was rated at 8m). Bale is 89 rated...

I have melbourne city in the 6th year 2020. i won the premier league in the second season - by 1 point. this is my squad - the news still only rates me as a champions league spot. playing a skinny diamond now with a kind of false 9 thing going on. i wanted to keep 2 dm's but i wont like playing wings. at least this formation has stopped me getting hammered down my flanks.

Kane is getting the boot next season. too slow, cant carry the ball, is basically a wasted spot. braithwaite is a beast. best signing on the cheap. ive had him since league 1 and he has won every golden boot since.


I have a B team where I still have mooy as captain on 78. honestly, he's one of the best players in the whole squad. ive played him as a dm for 6 season and he pinches the ball of anyone that comes close to him. Chapman is on 66 and is a handy defender - he's the lowest started on the b team - it's mostly full of youth development players and oscar 82 whos hit and miss. cant carry the ball.
