He's back over here because he feels comfortable with the physios in newy as opposed to fulham, and probably is a bit homesick.

He's training with the team currently.

Some team.

Srs, sounds like he's doing the right things to recover and stake his claim for the Asian Cup. Hope he picks things back up at Fulham asap.

 well to be fair, last year a lot of the time it felt like Taggz was running a one-man team.

You not liking the city of Newcastle makes zero sense to me - it is nearly identical to Wollongong

Exactly. It's the younger sibling to Sydney rivalry between the two. Newcastle get everything whilst Wollongong get overlooked for everything.

I'm sure it's a lovely place to visit/live.

On a serious point, just don't rate him. Physically unexceptional, lacks pace, technique adequate, and seldom clinical in the Inzaghi manner of speaking.

Prove me wrong Taggart.

I personally rate the likes of Juric, Babalj & Duke (yep, Duke) higher, but I really don't see how someone can say "prove me wrong" after his record last season tbh.

9) Taggart - surprised he got the start over home town boy Gameiro but he greatly impressed. A hat trick and held the ball up well allowing for the midfielders/wingers to get involved. He definitely needs to feature more for Newy. If only he stayed at Perth and could combine with De Silva for his club.

Losing Taggart is, of all the legacy that Ferguson left, the thing that makes me (figuratively) froth with rage. Always rated him and he should have been involved a lot more. That said, youth under Naven is a better environment than anything under Fergie.

i think people forget that when taggart left perth, they had both smeltz & mehmet in front of him & usually only played with one striker. it's "common knowledge" that taggart will be getting a much bigger input this year at the jerks, and i fully expect him to be jetting () off to europe after this season

Quote:
THERE was a familiar face at Newcastle Jets training this morning, with last season's A-League Golden Boot Adam Taggart back in club colours.

The 21-year-old was seen jogging laps of Ray Watt Oval, clad in Jets training attire, as his former teammates trained nearby.

But Taggart wont be making a return to the Jets, not yet anyway.

Various leagues around the world are on an international break, and Taggart, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation for an injury, has used the break to return to Australia and continue his recovery under the eye of his former club, a practice not uncommon for international players.

Newcastle Jets CEO Robbie Middleby said Taggart's return was only short-term and had been prearranged.

"Adam rang the club and asked if he could do some rehab and train with the club whilst he was home, and the club was happy to oblige.

"As for returning, we like to keep in contact and have a good relationship with players who leave the club, especially players that are the calibre of Adam.

"At this stage his focus is getting back on the pitch at Fulham, but you never know what could happen in the future," said Middleby.

Taggart moved to English Championship club Fulham in the off-season, following his appearance with the Socceroos at the World Cup in Brazil.

His time in England has been a frustrating one, stunted by injury and a change in manager, with the man who signed him, Felix Magath sacked in September following a poor start to the new season.

So just rehab :(

Would love to have Taggart back at the Jets. I think people don't give him enough credit. He had an amazing season last year, has a fantastic eye for goal, bit of pace, can hold up the ball for a small bloke and uses his body well against big defenders. I just hope he isn't consistently injured. With the right people behind him feeding him good balls, I reckon he could do quite alright overseas. Hopefully if he isn't coming back to Newcastle, he gets some game time at Fulham.

Is it just me or a lot of the time, when a young Aussie goes overseas to a club, their manager who buys them seems to get sacked not long after and spoils our players chances. I swear it's happened a few times. But then again, it's probably just a common thing through-out football anywhere so eh.

Was just over in England - he's staying at Fulham apparently. He almost got back to fitness until Magath screwed him up again. I'd say he's better off being loaned to Jets in January.
