I don't get it. The ABC is looking down the barrel of funding cuts and then they, presumably, outbid SBS or whoever to secure the rights for coverage.

I don't understand what's in it for them when SBS would likely have covered it anyway. Money going down the drain here.

If it's an either / or proposition I would prefer the ABC doesn't bid for these sorts of things and keeps it's existing programming.
